This a story about two young sisters, Kim and Angie Nelson, living in 1935 who have grown up in a world of wealth and privilege. Raised in Manhattan, they have travelled the world and are well known in the best social circles. However, they have become very spoiled and are driving their parents crazy.
Mrs. Nelson: George where are they?
Mr. Nelson: I don't know Martha *he says frustrated*.
Mrs. Nelson: They know we are supposed to leave at 7 for the charity ball.
Mr. Nelson: Well it's five past 7 now so it doesn't look like they're going to show. We had better just go without them.
Mrs. Nelson: This is the last straw George!! Those girls have got to learn some responsibility.
Mr. Nelson: I know dear but I don't know what else to do.
Mrs. Nelson: Well we better think of something!!
*Meanwhile the girls are living it up at party at a friend's plush penthouse.*
Angie: Who wants more champagne? *she says as she uncorks another bottle. Several young men flock around her holding their glasses out and smiling.*
Kim: You boys really should learn to play better, but then again it wouldn't be nearly as fun if you did! *She's still fully clothed but the men she has been playing strip poker with are down to their socks and underwear.*
*After a few more hours of dancing and flirting the girls finally make it back home to find two very angry parents waiting for them.*
Mrs. Nelson: Where have you two been?
Angie: Mom we were...
Mrs. Nelson: I don't want to hear it. You know you were supposed to go with us to Mrs. Murphy's ball to help raise money for the new children's hospital. These are hard times for so many people and you two need to realize that!! It's not all about going shopping and partying.
*The girls hang their heads knowing it may be best to just keep their mouths shut.*
Mrs. Nelson: You talk to them George. I'm so mad I may say something I'll regret. *With that she leaves the room.*
Kim: Daddy, we were just...
Mr. Nelson: Don't 'daddy' me! I'm just as mad as your mother. You girls are not children anymore and it's high time you grew up and started acting like young ladies should. You remember that ranch I bought in Montana about a year ago?
Angie and Kim: Yes.
Mr. Nelson: Well you're going to get a first hand look at it because tomorrow morning that's where you're headed!
Angie: What?
Kim: You can't send us out there?
Mr. Nelson: I can and I will. You'll help work that ranch until you've learned how to be respectful, responsible adults. Whether that takes one week or one year is up to you two. Now I suggest you get packed and get some sleep because you're easy breezy days are over!!

This is so exciting!
Did you want it to be a drama or a comedy? (Or both?)
With their heads hung low and the lingering fear that their fun-filled life of parties may be coming to an end, Kim and Angie walk up to their room and close the door behind them. Angie lays down on the bed and takes a deep sigh, looking at the ceiling. "They can't do this to us. We're grown women!" she says with a snippy tone. She pauses and laughs, trying to convince herself, "Nah, they aren't serious; they always say this kind of thing just to scare us into being 'proper and moral little girls.'" She ends with a mocking tone in her voice. Kim opens her closet and sits down on the floor, looking at all her lavishly decorated clothes, which were all probably hand woven and tailored just to fit her personal desires; though she's not sure on what she'll take with her -- seeing as none of these clothes are fit for plowing or milking cows. Angie sits up and looks to Kim. "What are you doing? You don't think he's serious...do you?" she asks with a slight hesitation in her upset voice. "This time I think he's serious, Angie. You saw the look on his face..." Kim gets up and sits next to Angie on the bed, looking at her painted toenails in somewhat of a daze, afraid of what may be waiting for them at that awful ranch. "I've never seen that look in his eye before; he's had 'enough' plenty of times before, but he never knew how to take care of the situation; but thanks to Uncle Joe, who just had to mention his ranch to Pop, it's given him a way to punish us!" Kim takes an exasperated sigh and shakes her head. Angie goes to reply, but she pauses, inhaling her question and hesitating on her thought. "Maybe--" she shakes her head and growls her voice, throwing herself back onto her extravagantly large and cushioned bed. "I think this may just be our end, sis. Pop's finally pulled the cord on us and now we're off to fend for ourselves..on a dirty old ranch." She closes her eyes and cringes, "Oh my gosh, I just had a thought..." Kim lays back on the bed and looks over to her, "What?" Angie looks to Kim and with all seriousness whispers, "we'll have to stay in the same house with smelly hillbilly boys who are as dumb as Johnny's hamster kibble!" She starts to laugh uncontrollably; and Kim laughs right along with her. "Oh my gosh! Ewwww! We have to make them sleep in the barn; I am not going to sleep under the same roof as those lice-infested slobs!" She continues to laugh. "I bet they smell just as awful as the pigs..." Angie chuckles. Kim Pauses, "I bet they look just as hideous, too!" They both continue laughing hysterically.
The next morning, around 9am, Mr. Nelson walks into the girls' room and smiles at his two lovely angels, making sure he doesn't wake them too harshly. The door swings open and in marches Mrs. Nelson: sick and tired of these little princesses getting away with just about everything. She stomps over to their beds, standing in between them both, then rips off the covers. "GET UP!" she yells obnoxiously loud. The girls lunge up and look to their mother. "What?!" Kim shrieks, still half asleep. Angie blinks her eyes sleepily a couple times and snuggles back into bed with her pillow. "It's 9:00 and it's time for you two to grow up!" Mother grabs Angie's pillow and the sheets Kim's struggling to hold onto and rips them away, walking downstairs. "9 AM?!" Kim whines. "Daddy, that's too early for us!" They both give their father the famous puppy eyes pout. "Daddy, why is mom being so gosh darn mean?" Angie whimpers. Mr. Nelson looks to them both, having been inspired by their mothers' "courage", and raises his tone to a drill sergeant's voice. "You better be downstairs in 5 minutes, packed and ready to go or ELSE!" He slams the door and on the other side smiles proudly to himself, walking down the stairs. Angie growls her voice and stomps to the door, opening it then slamming it harder. Mr. Nelson walks down the stairs in a huff with a balled up fist and clenched teeth; he passes Mrs. Nelson and mutters, "if those girls aren't out of here just as soon as they possibly can...I will send them to that ranch permanently!"
45 Minutes later the girls walk down from their room with their nose raised high and perfectly sculpted hair in an up-do, passing by their parents, and walking out into the car that awaits them. The butler pants and struggles to keep his legs sturdy as he follows behind them with as much luggage as he can possibly carry on one trip then scurries back up the stairs to gather the rest.

That was great, I was cracking up!! I figured it would be part comedy and part drama. *On their private jet flying to Montana the girls sulk wondering what ranch life will be like.* Kim: Maybe it won't be so bad. If we can just fake it for a while and act like we've grown up then we can go back home in a couple of weeks. Angie: I don't think it's gonna be that simple. We can't go home and go back to how it used to be or they'll just send us back out here. Kim: Then what are we gonna do? *she says getting upset*. Angie: I don't know!!! But we'll have to think of something. *They soon touched down at the Helena airport and when they stepped off the plane they saw a man standing near an old pick-up truck waiting for them. Angie: *whispering to Kim* He sure doesn't look a dirty old pig to me! Kim: *giggling* No he does not! *The girls gather up their hand luggage and walk towards the man who has a rather disdainful look on his face.* Man: I guess you two are Kim and Angie *he says curtly*. Angie: Yes we are. I'm Angie and this is Kim *she says with a smile and goo-goo eyes*. Man: I'm Cole Harden, the foreman at the Box H ranch. Your father wanted me to meet you but I really don't have time for this so get your stuff and let's go. *He's turns away and gets in the truck while a couple of young men who work at the airport load all their luggage into the bed of the truck. Angie and Kim push each other as they fight for who gets to sit next to Cole.* Cole: Are you two coming? I'm not waiting all day. Angie: We're coming. *She pushes Kim out of the way and slides across the seat next to Cole with Kim having to sit by the window. They head off to the ranch which is about an hour and a half from the airport.* Cole: Do you girls think you brought enough stuff? *he says snickering a little* Angie: Well we didn't really know what we would need or how long we'll be out here. Cole: Well I doubt you have the kind of clothes you'll need but hopefully you won't be out here very long. Kim: Have we done something to upset you Mr. Harden? Cole: Actually, yes you have. It's hard work running a ranch and now I've got to babysit a couple of spoiled, pampered little girls. Kim: Now look, *she turned to him pointing her finger* first off we are not little girls and second we don't want to be out here either so we might as well try and make the best of it. Cole: Well you may not be little girls but your certainly not women. If you were you wouldn't be in this situation. Tell me, have you ever gotten up before sunrise, do you know how to shoe a horse or clean out a stall? Angie: Well, no of course not. Cole: Then I don't see how we can make the best of an impossible situation. *The rest of the way to the ranch they sat in silence as the two girls just stared out the window.*

Awwww, thanks sis! We don't mind you coming in here at all! You're always welcome This is perfect so far! I love it!! But I don't want my character to be introduced for a while because I still have yet to work on him, lol (that sounded so mad-scientish) I just had an idea! Do we get the same house on the ranch or should thre be one next door (quite close) so we might get split up sometime in the story with our fellas? Hmmm, maybe that isn't such a good idea. Oh well, it'll all form together perfectly as it goes -- it usually always does I'll update soon!!

I'm glad you like it Theresa!
Kim: I'm not sure what our living situation should be. Normally there would probably be a bunkhouse for the ranch hands and I guess my Gary (Cole) probably has a house since he's the foreman so maybe we are staying in his house or something.

Once they arrive at the ranch, Cole gets out of the truck and slams the door behind him, going to the back of the truck and grabbing his gun and pheasants. Kim and Angie smile charmingly, looking straight forward and awaiting him to open their door but he just walks right past them and makes his way into the house. Angie folds her arms and pouts, "he's such a...such a..." she growls and shakes her head. Kim sits in the middle of the passenger side and the driver side and notices he left his keys in the ignition. Kim looks over to Angie and giggles; Angie turns her eyes toward Kim and shrugs, then she finds that the keys are in the ignition and smiles slyly. "Should I?" Kim smirks. "If you don't, I will." Angie chuckles, looking toward the house to make sure he isn't coming. Kim starts the engine and pulls down the clutch; the truck starts rolling and the girls shriek with delight. Angie turns around and looks toward the house to find Cole bounding out the front porch door, with a look on his face that could scare the wits out of his own grandmother. "I think he's gonna chase us! He just ran into the barn!" Angie squeals as she bounces in her seat with excitement. "I haven't had this much fun since Betty's last New Years Eve party!" Kim laughs, pressing down on the gas peddle and reaching 30 MPH. Angie throws her head back and laughs when she turns around to find Cole on his horse, gaining up on the two. "Kim, go faster! He's right behind us!" Angie screams. Kim looks in the rear-view mirror to find a whirlwind of dust riding on their tail and gaining faster with every yard. Only excitement fills the girls' hearts as they race to escape Cole; consequences aren't familiar to them where they come from so this is only a thrilling game in fun. Cole continues to push his horse to it's maximum speed until he comes up beside the truck. Angie looks to Kim and squeezes her arm tightly when she feels a bump coming from the back of the truck. "Kim, he's in the truck!" Angie screams with a rush of both fear and excitement thumping in her heart and moves as close to the dashboard as possible, away from his grasp. "Stop this truck now." Cole demands as he grabs Kim's arm. Terrified of what this strange hillbilly would do to her if she doesn't, she pulls off to the side of the road and sits motionless as he jumps down from the truck and opens the drivers creaky door. Immediately Kim scoots over next to Angie and the two grab onto each other tightly. Silence hangs heavy in the air like a thick fog until Angie and Kim begin to giggle to each other. Within minutes, they reach the house yet again; but this time Cole opens their door. Angie smile snobbishly with her head held high in the air and takes his extended hand, jumping down. But once she tries to let go, Cole spins her around and lays her over his knee to give her a hard spanking. Kim sits in the car in absolute shock and covers her eyes, not wanting to such "abuse." Once Cole is finished with her he takes Kim by the arm before she can hide up against the other door and yanks her down, giving her a couple swats of her own. Once he's finished, he grabs both of their hands and opens the back of the truck. Kim and Angie look to each other, shrugging, as if to say, "what now?" "Carry it to the house." he demands. Kim and Angie look at the loads of luggage with wide eyes. "Surely you couldn't mean us. We aren't nearly strong enough to take that in all by ourselves!" Angie whines, looking at all the luggage piled up. "If you bring it here -- you carry it to your rooms. We don't have any fancy butlers or bellboys around here to tend to your every command so you best get used to it, you hear?" Cole replies, raising his brow. The girls look down, embarrassed. "Around here things don't just magically happen and appear before your eyes like some crack pot magician show. You'll learn to do things on your own, and if you refuse...well then, that's tough. If you want food -- you make it yourself; if you want your clothes laundered -- there's a clothing line out back; and if you want your room cleaned -- you get down on your hands and knees and scrub until your hands are raw. That's what a real woman does, miss and until you learn to toughen up, you'll only be good enough for one thing -- makin' babies...and around here we don't need any half wits." Angie wipes the tears from her eyes and gets up to Cole's face, sneering, "so is that what you think of us?" He leans forward, inching his face closer as she backs up. "I know that to be a fact, ma'am because I've seen your kind before. Don't think you can pull anything funny on me because I'm not as dumb as you may think." Kim scoffs. Cole looks to her and immediately Kim shys away sheepishly, pulling off a few luggage pieces from the truck and dragging them along for all she's worth.

I'm really glad I was at home when I read that b/c it was hilarious!!!! The spanking part really got me, too funny!!!!
*After several trips from the truck to the house the girls finally made it in with all their luggage but their pretty, frilly dresses were now dirty and soaked with sweat. Once in their room they found two twin beds and a hardwood floor.*
Kim: This is awful!! Where's the carpet, and the vanity, and the phone!!!!
Angie: Look at this tiny closet! I won't even be able to fit one suitcase worth of clothes in there!!
Kim: *sniffling and nearly in tears again* What are we gonna do, we can't live like this!!!
Angie: *looking out the window seeing Cole leading his horse back into the barn* I've got an idea. I'll make him be nice to us if it's the last thing I do.
Kim: Oh he's not gonna fall for that.
Angie: Have you ever known my charms to fail?
Kim: No, but this guys different. He's ignorant and hard-headed.
Angie: Just leave it to me Sis. Life will be back to normal in no time.
*Angie walked out to the barn and found Cole brushing his horse. She walked up to him slowly with a very pitiful look on her face.*
Cole: I bet you've never been that dirty before in your whole life.
Angie: Well you'd be right about that *she gave him a weak smile*. What's her name? *she said petting the horses nose.*
Cole: Her name is Sir Henry, but I call him Hank *he said smiling slightly*.
Angie: Oh, well hello Hank.
Cole: *Seeing how sweet she was to his horse it made him feel bad* I'd like to apologize for how I acted earlier.
Angie: You don't have to, we deserved it I guess.
Cole: Maybe so but I shouldn't have been quite so, well you know.
*Angie felt she had Cole right where she wanted him so she walked over to him and putting her hands around his neck pulled his face down to hers and kissed him*.
Cole: *pulling away from her* What did you do that for?
Angie: Didn't you like it? *she said seductively*
Cole: No and besides I have a girlfriend.
Angie: Oh come on, I'm sure you and I could have a lot more fun together *she said as she stretched up on her tip toes and put her arms around his neck*.
Cole: *yanking her arms down and backing away* Carole is a wondeful woman and I'd take one of her any day over a thousand of you!!
*Angie was stunned as she had never been treated so rudely by any man and she spun around and ran back into the house*.
Kim: How did it go?
Angie: How do you think? *she fell down on her bed and just stared at the ceiling*.
Kim: *sitting down next to her* He didn't fall for it huh?
Angie: No. He said he had a girlfriend. Can you imagine what she must be like?
Kim: Probably some bucktoothed mountain girl!
*They both laughed and then each one took turns in the shower getting cleaned up. Then they headed down to the kitchen to try and find something to eat.*

It's 2 am and I've been laughing and cackling over this like a little school girl for 10 minutes!!! Carole: ...That one Carole may be dead before they'd be able to clone you even twice... She kinda looks like she had "made the dinner by herself, laundered the clothes, and got down on her face and knees and scrubbed until Carole was just plain raw." ......We lost Gary....to this woman?

The girls royally make their way down the stairs, gliding their hand on top the railing but Kim stops and looks at her hand to find it's all dusty and dirty. She scrunches her nose and almost gags. They come to the incredibly “small” kitchen area, smaller than their freakishly large kitchen at home, and look around to find Cole sitting down at the table eating. "Don't you ever have respect for women?" Angie huffs, folding her arms and watching Cole continue to eat. Cole lays down his fork and looks at her. With her arms still folded, she looks him up and down and scoffs, "the least you could do is stand when a lady enters the room." Cole continues to look her straight in the eye then without hesitation picks up his fork and begins eating once more, "I will....when a lady enters the room." Angie's eyes get wide and she goes to kick him in the shins but her bottom begins to sting and she rubs it gently, figuring she'd better not. "Cole Harden, if you weren't such a...such a...hard headed brute I wouldn't have such a problem with you. I've done nothing to you personally, so why must you treat me as though I'm lower that dirt?" She places her hands on her hips, expecting to see Kim behind her, backing her up on all this, but she glances over to find Kim sitting at the table with a heap full of food. Angie goes to say something when Cole begins his reply. "You've had enough luxury where you come from – havin’ men fall on their knees in your presence left and right - but on this ranch the only 'man' who's gonna be doing that kinda knee bucklin' is Jake, our stallion, when you git out there and clip his nails. And it ain't gonna be as pleasant, neither" He leans forward and continues eating. Angie goes to stomp up to her room but she eyes the food and her stomach growls. Might as just well give in; it's no use to speak common sense into this man's thick skull. Besides, if we get on his good side now…maybe we can have some fun with him later. "All right Cole...you win." Angie says defeated, walking slowly over to the stove to dish up. Cole sets down his fork quietly and wipes his mouth, sitting back into his chair and digesting the food...and also Angie's words: "You win." Angie sits down to eat and the girls giggle a bit, whispering a few things back and forth, no doubt about another nasty trick. He shakes his head and stands up, walking outside and heads to the barn. Kim looks to Angie and Angie shrugs, continuing to giggle.
Cole storms into the barn and paces. “These girls are going to be the end of this ranch! They play such mind games it’s plum impossible to tell what’s truth and what’s not! If only I had help so I could really teach ‘em both a lesson I’d--” he stops mid-sentence and smirks. “I’ll call Tom Henry; he’ll take care of that one gal while I take care of Angie. He’ll know how to help me…”

Oh he's so mean to me but I deserve it *The girls continue to eat when a truck pulls up to the house. A young woman gets out and walks in surprised to the see the two ladies at the table.* Woman: Well hello! I guess you two must be Kim and Angie from New York *she says chipperly*. *They look at her and nod.* Woman: *walking to them extending her hand* I'm Carole Peters, Cole's girlfriend. My family runs the dairy farm just down the road. *The girls each shake her hand and give her half-hearted smiles.* Angie: I don't mean to seem rude but how can you stand to be around that man? Carole: *laughing* He hasn't given you a very warm reception huh? Kim: Unless you call a spanking a warm reception, I would definitely say no. Carole: He spanked you?! *she can barely contain the laughter but she tries to supress it*. Angie: We were just having some fun with him and we took off with his truck. He got really mad but it was just a harmless joy ride. Carole: Well I knew he wasn't very happy to hear you were coming but I had no idea he would treat you like that. He's really not so bad once you get to know him. Angie: I don't think that will ever happen. He can't stand to be around us. Carole: Don't worry about it. I'll go talk to him. Kim: Good luck! *Carole walked out to the barn and found Cole just sitting there on a stool. He didn't even notice her until she was standing right in front of him.* Cole: *looking up startled* Hey Carole, when did you get here? *he stood up and gave her a quick peck on the cheek* Carole: Just a few minutes ago. I met your new ranch hands. Cole: *his smile turned back into a frown* Oh you did. I swear those girls are gonna give me high blood pressure or an ulcer or something. Carole: They told me you spanked them. Cole: They deserved worse!! You wouldn't believe how spoiled and inconsiderate they are!! They're absolutely worthless!!! Carole: Now listen to me, *she said taking his hands in hers* you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar darling. Just be nice to them for a little while and then they'll be out of your hair. *Cole wanted to tell her how coniving they could be and that Angie had already tried to seduce him but he didn't want to upset her so he just kept quiet.* *It was getting late so Kim and Angie decided to go to bed. They were sound asleep when Cole shook them both and jerked them up out of bed.* Kim: What are you doing in here? *she tried to grab the sheets and cover herself up but he yanked them away again*. Cole: This is no time for false modesty. You left a mess in the kitchen and you're not going back to sleep until you clean it up. *He followed them down the stairs and stood behind them without saying a word while they washed up their dishes. As soon as they had finished he went into his room and slammed the door. The girls walked back upstairs so mad smoke could have shot out of their ears and went back to sleep.*

The next morning Kim hears commotion going on downstairs. She perks and looks to Angie who's still sleeping. "Angie...." Kim whispers; no response. Kim gets out of bed and nudges her, "Angie, get up." Nothing. Kim kicks the side of the bed and Angie screams, "No Cole! I don't want to be branded like the other Hanks!" Kim steps back, looking at Angie awkwardly. Angie sits up and rubs her eyes. "Huh, what?" "It's time to get up, there's some commotion going on downstairs and if we're gonna get on his good side we better be ready before he comes up here and pulls the sheets off us again." Angie slides out of bed and stretches. "What time is it?" she yawns. Kim looks at her clock. "10:45." She takes a double take, "10:45?!" He's up to something, Angie; he'd never let us sleep in this late." "He probably forgot about waking us up." Angie crawls back into bed and snuggles with her pillow. Kim stands alone, absolutely as tired as can be and looks to her bed. She succumbs to it's calling and snuggles under the covers. Not more than 20 minutes later Carole walks into the room. She nudges each one of them gently. "Girls..." she whispers. Kim and Angie squint their eyes. "You better get up; Cole's outside working and if he knows you're both still sleeping he'll come in here and throw ice water on ya'." Kim looks to Angie and scoffs, not believing a word of it. Angie's mouth hangs open and her eyes get wide - knowing he'd do it in a split second...even if they weren't sleeping. "Don't believe he wouldn't; he's done it to me." she laughs. "I brought some clothes with me; I figured you wouldn't have any clothes to get dirty in so I left them by the door there." Kim and Angie nod weakly, still a little sleepy. Carole walks out and points to her watch, "don't let him catch you sleeping..." Once she leaves they get up, slowly but surely and walk over to the bucket of clothes. They pick through them, each hoping to find a pretty outfit before the other. "This has to be some kind of joke. Who wears stuff like this?" Kim holds up a pair of dirty overalls. Angie shrugs, "Hillbilly broads I guess." They both laugh. The girls walk downstairs and find the kitchen barren of cooked food. "Where did it go?" Angie looks around. Cole walks in from outside and goes to yell at them for standing around like idiots but he remembers what Carole said. "Where's the food?" Kim inquires. "You missed it." Cole replies. "What?! You can't --" Angie stops short and mumbles to herself, trying to act nice. Cole smiles, knowing what their trick is -- he wants to see how far he can push them. "Come on out to the barn; I've got a few things for you to do." They follow him out to the barn when a truck arrives. Cole motions for them to stay put when he runs up to greet the man. "Hey Tom!" Cole laughs. The girls look to each other, "Tom?" The man closes his truck door and gives Cole a hug, "hey Cole!" The men chat for a minute or so and then Cole walks Tom up to the girls to introduce them. Kim's eyes grow wide as she sees the man tall, handsome walking toward her. (They aren’t from the same era so they don’t look exactly the same.) Tom extends his hand and smirks, knowing how much fun it'll be to teach these gals a lesson....

That crazy dream sounds like me, I always have the weirdest dreams!! Tom: Hi, I'm Tom Henry *he said smiling taking Kim's hand and shaking it*. Kim: Hi I'm Kim. This is my sister Angie *she said uneasily wondering what they were up to*. Angie: Hi *she said shaking his hand*. Cole: I thought I'd get Tom to come over and help us out. Kim you'll go with him and you'll come with me *he said pointing to Angie*. Kim: Wait a minute what are you gonna do with us? Tom: Well for starters you're gonna stay here with me and muck out these stalls. Cole: And Angie you're coming with me to check on the cattle. *He took Angie by the arm and led her to a grey mare that was already saddled up while Tom helped Kim find the shovels.* Cole: Do you know how to ride? Angie: When I was a kid I took some lessons but I haven't actually been on a horse in years. Cole: Well Bess here is very gentle and there's really nothing to it. Just gently kick her if you want her to go, pull left on the reins to go left, pull right to go right, and pull back to stop. *Angie managed to get up on the horse which was no easy feat and she let out a little scream when Bess took a couple steps forward.* Cole: *on his horse walking over to her* Are you okay there? Angie: Yeah I think so. Cole: Okay then, let's go. *They rode out for a few miles and Angie was surprised at how well she was doing after going so long without riding but Cole wasn't paying any attention to her. They reached a long fence and Angie could see some cows off in the distance.* Angie: So what are we supposed to do now? *she said shifting uncomfortably in her saddle*. Cole: Just ride along the fence line and kinda give things a once over. Make sure there are no breaks in the fence, you know, stuff like that. *After riding for a while Cole figured it was time to put his plan into action.* Cole: Why don't we take a break and rest for a minute. *He got off his horse and watched as Angie struggled to dismount. He thought to himself if it was anybody else he would help her but he was getting way too much satisfaction watching this city girl slip and slide trying to get off the horse. Once she finally managed to get off, Cole tied Bess to the fence next to his horse, except he tied her very loosely so she could easily slip away. They sat down next to a tree with their backs to the horses and just as Cole knew she would, Bess pulled herself loose and began trotting back to her stall and soon she was just a speck on the horizon.* Cole: Well we should probably be heading back now. Angie: Hey where's my horse? *she said panicing a little.* Cole: I don't know I tied her up. Angie: Well she's not here now! *she said angrily*. Cole: *mounting his horse* Well come on, you better start walking. Angie: You did this on purpose? *she yelled at him* Cole: What? Why would I want to have to listen to you whining all the way back to the house? *Angie just sneered at him and started walking. After about half an hour of silence between them Angie began to cry a little bit quietly to herself.* Cole: *stopping his horse* What's wrong? *he said exasperatingly*. Angie: Nothing *she said sniffling*. Cole: You're not crying over nothing now what's wrong? Angie: I've got a rock in my shoe and I think I'm getting a blister, okay! *Feeling like she had had enough for now and knowing she wouldn't be any good to him if she couldn't walk around he got down then picked her up and put her on his horse. Then he got back on in front of her and they began riding back to the house. At first they were going slow and Angie was just holding onto the sides of the saddle. But once they began to ride at a faster clip she got scared and threw her arms around Cole's waist and held him tight resting her face against his back. He tried not to laugh at her and just kept riding.* *While Angie was off with Cole, Kim was having an equally tough time with Tom*.
