In a comedy about an inexperienced naval officer, Cooper is assigned to an experimental, steam-powered patrol vessel that gets dubbed the U.S.S. Teakettle. Everything that can go wrong does, despite efforts by Mitchell, the only sea-tested crewman aboard, but they are nevertheless awarded for their perseverance. The debut for Bronson.

This is a movie that most people hate but I find quite entertaining.

I like it. It is funny and I fand very encoareging (this word spells different I'm sure but couldn't remember sorry) the way he stared his service learning from the book how to manage the ship command. I often done things which I never did before so I understand the feeling exectly. I thought it just brilliant film which I enjoyed and seen for the several times. I never heard that somebody hated it. I know that it failed at boxoffice.

You're right, it didn't do very well when it was released but I really like it. It's one of my dad's faves of his. My dad loves Navy stuff as his dad was in the Navy. It is funny that he had to consult his book about how to command the ship.

My Dad was in the Navy too and then sailed at merchaunt fleet, later he worked on some scintific research but always had a passion for sea. He had a boat. So I was obssesed by the sea and ships when I was kid. Like to read about it a lot. Still like ships but not so passionatly as then. Funny that your Dad had similiar situation

My dad would have been in the Navy but he didn't pass the physical (poor eyesight, bad peripheral vision). He loves planes and boats. I'm not really crazy about either one. I don't really have a problem with flying though but you can't get me out on a boat. He lived in San Diego for several years and just recently moved back to Texas. On my last visit there we went on the Midway, old aircraft carrier that's now a museum, and it was really cool. I think I would feel safe out on something that big but that's about it

I'm not crazy about ships and planes - but I like them. I never sail on the sailing ship or fly on the little plane where you are sitting near the pilot in the cabin - but I hope to have both posibilities some day.
