Does anyone have a favorite movie that Dean and Jerry did together or do you all like their movies together all about the same? It's been many many years since I watched any of their movies but have seen them all as I was a very big fan of them and Abbott and Costello growing up as a kid.

The movie I remember most is the one where they are in the navy and Jerry ends up on the submarine. I can't remember the name of it. I woud say that it was called In the Navy Now but that is a Gary Cooper movie.

Oh I'm sure I've seen them all as they use to show them all the time on TV when I was growing up. It's been so long I can't remember which one's I've seen and which one's I haven't seen. I'm sure a place like netflix or blockbuster online rental would have them for rent if they are available on DVD. I'm not sure if all of their movies together are out on dvd though. The one I remember the most is when Jerry is hanging on to a periscope of a submarine that is below him in the water. At least I think he was in a movie with dean like that and I am not confusing him with the Gomer Pyle episode that was similar. I do think that they both were in that situation of being on the submarine periscope. I also remember Dean and Jerry going through the physical to get in or maybe that was the one where they went in the army together. I don't know as it is all very confusing and cloudy right now in my head. I also have to contend with many memories of Abbott and Costello going in all the services when they made movies or maybe they just went into the army. I've got a great deal of memories of Dean and Jerry movies but they are all jumbled together in my head right now.

I remember flipping through channels once, before I really knew who M&L were, and on TCM, there was an M&L movie, but I don't know which one, all I remember is Jerry was going to have a boxing match with some man and had never boxed before in his life and Dean was trying to build him up for it. Then I remember Jerry scared the guy just by talking like he was tough, but I have no idea what that movie was, I'd love to see the whole thing though.
Of course everyone loves "Streets," but not everyone loves BOTH versions! No, I didn't notice that thing about his hair, maybe I was too busy looking at Jerry's ring lol!

There is all kinds of funny parts in that movie which is why it sticks out so much in my mind after many many years. Of course they did do a telethon one time where jerry was in the ring with the one and only rocky marciano. But that one I seem to recall did not last that long because as soon as Rocky hit Jerry a little too hard he went down for the full 10 count so that he would take any more abuse from him.

I'm pretty sure then that's it's Sailor Beware
Sailor Beware
Paramount/1952
Starring: Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. Co-starring: Marion Marshall, Robert Strauss, Corinne Calvet.
The boys wreak havoc on the navy this time. Some funny bits and good songs. There is a boxing sequence at the end of the picture in which Jerry fights a man three times his size. In the big man's corner, as one of his trainers, is the as-yet-unkonw James Dean.

Yes it is sailor Beware that I remember so well and it is in the Martin and Lewis collection DVD set Vol 1.
Amazon description:
"Also from 1951, Sailor Beware is a service comedy with some hilarious sequences--Lewis conducting a male chorus, for instance, or undergoing a slightly surreal medical exam--and the team still has a freshness despite the movie formula. Their timing together in the punchdrunk-boxer routine shows some of the chemistry they must have had onstage. "

I only saw the fight part and then changed the channel, I wasn't interested in them yet, but I do remember that sticking out. I also watched all of Jerry's "Rock a Bye Baby" before I fell in love with Dean and Jerry, but loved all of that. I couldn't remember what the name was for the longest time or what his name was, but I should buy it, it's one of my favorites.
