I know, it is one of my favorites as well... It's funny, he ALWAYS has a "lesson to be learned" at the end, it's kinda cute

I feel so sorry for him when they all are having dinner at this very looooong table and he has to get up every minute to serve them wine or light a ciggy and he can't get a bite himself because he's too tired and then he spoils his soup with too much salt lol.

I like the scene when he's in the kitchen and the radio is on and he starts doing one his great instruments imitations. He has such a great feeling for music and hits every note spot on.

Yep that's the one. And the dance down the stairs was done in one take! And when he runs back up the stairs (67!), he collapsed off camera. We have 6 flights of stairs with a total of 60 steps, if I run up them like he did, I almost pass out too.

Yes, he had to be hospitalized after the staircase sequence where he climbed 67 steps in nine (!) seconds before collapsing.

It's on the dvd. When you have it watch the movie with the commentary turned on. Jerry watches the movie with another fellow and they comment throughout the movie. And that's what they said during the staircase scene. I don't remember how long he had to stay at the hospital but he went back to work when he got out.

Wow, I love commentaries, but I don't like watching the entire movie through again after watching it, already, 5 times.
But I'll have to check that scene! I can't wait to see it...

certainly one of my favourite films. My 2 year old copies the bit in the kitchen where he's dancing to count basie. pretends to smoke a ciggy, makes the faces, play the drums, flute and sax
its too cute!
