I cannot tell you how much I love this movie and how much I adore Gary Cooper... I fell in love with this one quote...of course it doesn't have the intensity on paper as it did onscreen, but you'll get the general jist of it: After falling for this woman Deeds, being very shy and sweet, wrote her a letter...and it read: I've tramped the earth with hopeless beat, Searching in vain for a glimpse of you. Then heaven thrust you at my very feet, A lovely angel, too lovely to woo. My dream has been answered, but my life's just as bleak. I'm handcuffed and speechless, in your presence divine. For my heart longs to cry out, if it only could speak. I love you, my angel, be mine, be mine. After the scene, he dashed off and ran into a couple trash cans/people, being too embarassed/shy to stick around. *Sigh* I love this man

Yep! And believe me, I still love A&OL but this movie has something special...I'm probably the only person who thinks it's amazing, but I'm just so in love with Gary Cooper...

I thought it was very cute and sweet and it never even rang any bells that tha Adam Sandler movie was a remake. I wanna see that too lol.
I loved the poem and since I'm such a sap, yeah, I cried lol...It's one of my favorites, but I have a HUGE list of favorites, and it's on there.

This movie may have just missed my top 10 Gary Cooper movie list. But it is still a classic. I love the ending scene where is saying so long to everyone as the train is pulling away. They used it in one of the documetories that was done on him with great effect. I may like Meet John Doe a little better this one, but do wish I had a better copy of that film. Most of the DVD's for Meet John Doe are a little blurry and noisey picture wise.

If you want a better picture, then it's on three times on TCM in May, June and July: May 07, 05:45PM Jun 28, 10:45AM Jul 16, 11:00AM But I'm sure you already know that; I'm talking to the TCM master, here!

*bows down* Oh great TCM Master...Can I get a job with them?!
I do have to see the other ones.
I'm just watching it on TCM now, and I just thought, it's kind of creepy the way the butler says, "Yes sir..." after he informs Deeds that he came home wearing no clothes, just his shorts.

I think I did miss it. I watched The Wedding Story and part of Along Came Jones, as well as A Farewell to Arms, I've always hated that book, but this is the one time that I've actually liked the movie more than the book. The book was sooo confusing, but I've always bawled my eyes out at the end of the book and I did at the end of the movie. I'll have to watch Cowboy and the Lady tomorrow, I have the entire day off, except for that early doctors appointment that I have, but definitely a day to catch up on my movie watching, I'll be here all alone lol, so what is there better to do?! lol

Oh, I'll try, thank you. RIght now I gotta go to bed though, I've finally worked myself into enough of an exhaustion to pass out without any worries until the alarm rings, but, I have nothing to do until my uncle, grandmother and grandfather get back, but I'll definitely post things in each of the threads for the movie.
