I've recently started collecting old movie mags and I know Kim and Theresa each have a lot of them too and I thought this would be a cool place to talk about the style and fashion tips they had in them.
I just got one mag I had been trying to find for months. It's the April '29 issue of Photoplay with the radiant Clara Bow on the cover. In it they had an article about what colors worked best on redheads. Since so many of us here dye our hair red I thought I'd pass it along.
They said it you want to tone down your hair or not make it stand out less that if you wear warm colors like earthtones or other shades of red and orange that will work. Who wants to do that though - ha! So if you want it to really stand out (of course) you should wear cool colors like purple, green or blue, especially if you have green or blue eyes as it will make them stand out more too (mine are green). They said however don't wear garrish shades of green as that will just be too much. They also said black or white will definitely make that red hair color really pop!
