Angie: *dancing with Tom* I better dance with that sailor, I did tell him I would. *she said seeing William watching her from the other side of the room*
Tom: Do you have to? *he asked somewhat pitifully*
Angie: Yeah, but I'll dance the rest of them with you if you want.
Tom: Okay *he said as his cheeks blushed*
*Angie walked towards William and his eyes lit up as he saw her coming.*
Angie: Can I have this dance sailor?
William: I thought you'd never ask. *he said with a big smile*
*Glenn and the band played a slow song and William held Angie so close you couldn't see daylight between them. She felt a little uncomfortable b/c even though he was quite attractive she didn't like him like she did Tom.*
William: You know I think you're the prettiest girl in all of Toronto, no all of Canada. *he whispered in her ear*.
Angie: Uh, thank you. *she said as she tried to wriggle lose from him a little bit.*
*Tom saw this and decided he better go rescue Angie from the clutches of this no good sailor.*
Tom: *tapping William on the shoulder* I think it's my turn now.
William: You've already had your dance soldier, go find another girl. *And he held Angie even tighter as they went back to dancing*.
*Tom then grabbed William by the arm and pulled him away from Angie and socked him right on the jaw knocking him to the floor. Everyone stopped dancing to watch the commotion.*
Angie: What did you do that for! *she said angrily*
Tom: I didn't like the way he was holding you so tight and you didn't seem to like it either.
Angie: That doesn't matter, I'm not your girl and you can't just go around hitting people for no good reason.
*Theresa and Kim came out of the kitchen to see what all the noise was about and when Theresa saw William laying on the ground knocked out she ran over to him and held his head in her lap.*
Theresa: What happened?
Angie: Sir Galahad here knocked him out when we were dancing.
Tom: Clearly I'm not wanted here. Goodbye!
*He left and Angie was so upset she went into her bedroom and slammed the door.*
William: *slowly coming around* Angie *he said faintly as he looked up to Theresa through bleary eyes*
Theresa: No it's me Theresa *she said sweetly brushing his hair away from his forehead.*
William: Oh, where's Angie?
Theresa: OH!! *she said frustratedly and she dropped his head back onto the floor and also headed to her bedroom nearly in tears.*

Oh my gosh, it's Gary everywhere! I melt into a puddle one minute, regain my composure, then scroll down and catch another glimpse of his bare chest and go limp again!

Kim stands in the room crowded with strangers and looks around. The party seems to have gone, dramatically, downhill ever since 2 of the 3 hostesses left in a loud and obvious huff. Kim takes a deep sigh and leans against the kitchen door-frame, sipping on her champagne. As she scans her eyes about the room, a handsome general walks up to her. She shifts her position from an aging, bored hostess to an interested young woman, trying to casually hide her desperate need for at least one dance before the evening is over. "Hello." Kim says flirtatiously, never having flirted, successfully, with a man before; but she's seen her sister perfect this look and hopes it'll work. He nods politely and stands in front of her. The two stand in awkward silence. The man begins to speak: "Would you care to--" Kim's heart flutters in her chest, nervous. "--Move aside, miss? You're blocking the kitchen." Kim's smile fades and she looks down, embarrassed. "Oh, I'm sorry." She steps aside and lets him through. She walks into the decreasing crowds, ready to announce the party's close. The handsome general walks up behind her and takes a deep sigh, looking toward a group of other high-up Marine officers, as if getting encouraged or nudged foreword. "Care for a dance, miss?" The man inquires, holding out his arm. Kim smiles and nods, taking his arm. The two dance for a couple minutes. The man is very handsome, charming, sweet and gentlemanly, but Kim can't help but feel this is all wrong. After having that incident happen with the mob, she's been leery of being around any kind of man. I'm more comfortable with books and beakers than I am with a grown man! I don't want to get involved in the wrong thing again -- I should know better! Kim pulls away from the man's embrace and smiles weakly. "Thank you for the dance, sir, goodnight." Kim excuses herself from the room and walks into her bedroom. The last remaining few in the room take this as a hint and leave within minutes; the handsome marine leaves as well.

theresa: but i saw you, you were pushing away from him!
kim:i know, i feel horrible, but i dont want to make another mistake after the men in that mob thing.
angie: oh, but doesnt he seem the least bit different?
kim: yeah, but i cant put you two in danger and myself, although he was super handsome
angie: i rest my case!
kim: theresa, why do you seem so down?
theresa: what do you mean, down? i happy...see?*trying to smile big*
angie: uh-huh, yeah right

angie: *taking off her shoes near the bed and singing* something about a sailor, something about a sailor, but a soldier aint so bad
kim looks to her and smiles and theresa smiles fakely trying to make it look real.

*Back at the base in the house he shared with three other soldiers, Tom sat on his bed sulking. He never had much luck with women. He was afraid to get close to them for fear of being parted like he was in his youth from his little friend Dolly and his mother who died a few years ago.*
Tom: I'm such an idiot. *He muttered to himself.* How many nice girls have I met in my life and I either ignore them or turn them against me.
*He walked over to his small closet and took off his jacket and hung it up. He began unbuttoning his shirt but was distracted by the little teddy bear sitting on his closet shelf. He picked it up and sat down on his bed holding it. When he was a boy it seemed much larger, but now his big hands dwarfed the little animal.*
Tom: Life was so much simpler then. *His thoughts drifted back to the days of his youth spent in carefree play with his friends next door. His memories of the little girl he called 'Dolly' were especially sweet.*
Tom: This is silly. I'm a grown man and I still miss a little girl I knew nearly twenty years ago. I don't even remember her real name.
*He put the bear back on the shelf and changed into his pajamas and laid down trying to put those memories out of his mind and get to sleep.*
*The next night at the canteen Angie scanned the crowd looking for Tom as they did their number but didn't see him. She did notice William and the handsome marine that had been dancing with Kim at the party.*
Kim: Hey Angie where are you going? *She said back in their dressing room as she saw her sister hurriedly changing back into her regular clothes.*
Angie: I'm just gonna go back home Sis. I'm not in much of a party mood.
Kim: I saw William in the crowd, I'm sure he'd like to see you.
Angie: I'm not interested in him. *She said as she walked out and headed home.*
Theresa: She's got men throwing themselves at her and she's still mopey. I'll never understand her. Hey I saw that guy you were dancing with was here too.
Kim: Oh I hadn't noticed. *she said even though she had seen him there too.*
*There was a knock at the door and the girls went to answer it.*

Theresa opens the door and looks somewhat surprised. Kim, who's standing off to the side -- the door blocking her view -- tries her best to read the look on her sister's face. "Oh hello...sir." Theresa says, blushing wildly. Sir? Kim thinks to herself. She steps into the man's view and gasps, quite surprised herself of the Marine standing in front of her. "Hello." The man nods to Kim, acting very gentlemanly. "Hello." Kim replies, smiling faintly. Theresa looks to the two and excuses herself out of the room. As Theresa exists, Kim invites the Marine in. "Won't you sit down?" she inquires, closing the door behind him. "Thank you." He says as he sits down on the couch, trying his best not to look nervous. "So what brings you here...General Brown." She reads the medal on his uniform. "Well, I wanted to apologize for last night." He begins, taking a quiet sigh; not quite used to these sort of confrontations. "Last night?" Kim inquires. "It was only a dance, sir; you need not feel guilty about it." She chuckles. Brown chuckles weakly and shifts his position on the couch. "Well, you see, I was somewhat pushed into that dance by a group of friends. And I--" "Oh, so you had no intentions of dancing with me on your own free will; was that it, Mr. Brown? You had to be 'pushed'?" "No, it wasn't that. I--" "I'd appreciate it kindly if you'd leave, General. I'm in no mood for insults this late in the evening." Kim stands up and opens the door. The man bows politely and leaves, embarrassed. Once she closes the door, Kim folds her arms and huffs. Though she doesn't realize it now, every time General Brown makes a visit to see her, her resistance to him lowers and her fear of his, perhaps, 'criminal' intentions seem to diminish more and more by the soft look in his eyes.

the next day the girls walk on stage unhappily as there are certain things on their minds. (gee i wonder what they could be)
as glenn directs the orchestra to start " rum and coca cola", he notices there is something wrong with girls and keeps a clear focus on each of them throughout the song, wondering what's wrong with them.
they all sing and notice that all three guys are in the audience. unfortunately theresa and kim werent too pleased with this, however angie seemed to look radiant now, being focused on tom.
after the song was over, they headed to their dressing room.
kim: oh stop looking so happy angie!
angie: im sorry, but i cant help it...ya know, i every time i look at him, i get the strangest feeling
theresa: what kind of feeling?
angie: i dont know really, it is like i have seen him somewhere before, but i cant remember where or if i have even seen him at all.
kim: that is strange
theresa: what happened to, " i wanna go home" ?
angie: oh be quiet *she giggles*
kim lifts a coat off one of the tables to put it on as they are about to leave, and she sees a box there.
kim: angie, there is another one of those orchids here for you
angie: *gasps happily* really?*runs over to it* wow, somebody must like me
theresa: yeah i wonder who somebody is?
angie: dont ask me how should i know
kim:i dont think it is safe for you to be accepting those angie
angie: i hardly think he is one of those horrible mobsters
kim: just the same, i wish you didnt
theresa just stand in front of the mirror brushing her hair, thinking only of that sailor, not even in touch with reality. kim and angie stop talking and see theresa not paying any attention to them. they decide to sneak up behind her
kim and angie: boo!
theresa jumps with surprise and squeals dropping her brush
angie: what has been wrong with you lately?
theresa: theres nothing wrong and i wish you two would stop asking me that
kim and angie give her a look like they know something is bothering her, but they dont know what it is.
as the three leave the dressing room, theresa runs into william inadvertently, as he was on his way to see angie in their dressing room.
theresa: im sorry*she looks up into his eyes surprised by the sight of him*
he looks back into her eyes and then snaps out of it
william:i was looking for angie
theresa:*outraged by this, but holding it in and trying to show no emotion she told him* she is right behind me*then looks down in anger and sadness*
kim sees her and realizes what has been wrong with her, not saying anything about it.
angie:*finishes locking their dressing room then looks up to him* oh hello sailor
william:........hello*struck with her beauty he is unable to say much else.

angie:*finishes locking their dressing room then looks up to him* oh hello sailorwilliam:........hello*struck with her beauty he is unable to say much else.Have I mentioned how much I love this story? Why can't a bunch of Gary's fight over me in real life!!!! I love 'rum and coca cola' too, the song not the drink - ha! *Angie walked past him hoping she could catch Tom if he was still in the canteen.* William: Wait a minute. Angie: Yes *she said turning towards him* William: Did you like the flowers? Angie: That's you whose been sending them? William: Yeah. Angie: Well they're beautiful, thank you. William: You wanna go get a drink or something? Angie: Well I can't, I'm kinda seeing someone else. *That wasn't exactly true but she was hoping soon that it would be.* William: Who? That crazy soldier who punched me for no reason. Angie: Yes, and he's not crazy. Look, you seem very sweet but I have to go. *She left him standing there stunned as she walked out into the crowd to see Tom standing by the bar alone.* Angie: Hi soldier! *She said as she tapped him on the shoulder* Tom: Hi! I'm surprised you're talking to me after how I acted at the party. Angie: Oh let's just forget about that and start over whaddya say? Tom: Sure. You wanna go for a walk or something? Angie: Okay. *They left the canteen and walked down the street lined with trees. It was a quiet night and they were the only people around. They were both quiet for a few minutes until Tom asked her a question.* Tom: Would it be alright if I held your hand? *he asked her looking down at the ground* *She didn't say anything but instead took his hand in hers and smiled.* Angie: You don't go out with girls much do you? Tom: Is it that obvious? Angie: No, it's just that your seem kind of shy. Well except when you punched that poor sailor. Tom: I thought we were gonna forget about that? Angie: Oh right I'm sorry *she said giggling* Tom: You're right though. See my mom died a few years ago and it seems I'm always losing the people I love so I don't get very close to people anymore. Angie: I'm sorry about your mom. It might not be any of my business but you can't go around being all closed up. You'll end up awfully lonely that way. Tom: I know. *Looking in her eyes he saw warmth and compassion, something he never noticed before in any other woman. He wanted to tell her everything; that his dad had also died when he was young and how he had been separated from the first girl he loved but he thought she might think that was silly and depressing so he just kept it to himself. They came to her apartment and she went inside after agreeing to have dinner with him the next evening.* Angie: I love Toronto!! *she shouted as she walked in* Hey where is everybody? *She found Kim and Theresa sitting on Theresa's bed. It looked like she had been crying and Angie sat down next to them to see what was going on.*

"I just like him so much and he doesn't care the least about me!" Theresa sobs, having held all of this in until William completely ignored her while passing her on the way to the apartment. "Who, Theresa?" Angie asks, setting down her coat and sitting next to her on the bed. "William! Who else?" Theresa says as she sniffs back the tears. She takes a deep sigh and wipes her cheeks. "I'm sorry, I'm not angry at you guys; it's that rude sailor! He doesn't even know I'm alive." "Awwww, he'll notice you, Theresa. Your sisters will see to that." Kim smiles, rubbing Theresa's back sympathetically. "What do you mean 'you'll see to that'. You sound like Chris, Eric and John." Theresa giggles. Kim and Angie chuckle. "I know you guys are trying to help, but you already have your guys!" Theresa adds, feeling sad again. "I don't have anyone. General Brown, I don't even know his real name, only danced with me because he was told to do it by his friends! So I know how you feel." Kim replies. Theresa looks down and sighs. "You'll get your prince, Theresa. Don't you fret your pretty little head." Angie giggles, mussing up her hair. Theresa laughs and scoffs. "Geee, thanks you guys." "Hey, what are sisters for?" Kim laughs.

*Back in the girls apartment the next evening after their show they sit around discussing their plan to get William to fall for Theresa.* Angie: Should we have another party and invite him? Theresa: That didn't work so well that last time remember? Angie: Oh yeah. Well what should we do? Kim: Maybe I could whip up some kind of love potion! Theresa: Oh come on be serious. Angie: I've got an idea! Maybe you could wait until you see him walking down the street and you could pretend to pass out in front of him. Then he'd help you up and you can take it from there. Theresa: I don't know. Doesn't that seem a little dramatic? Angie: Well I've got to get ready for my date and I'm out of ideas. *Angie got her lucky dress out of the closet to wear on her date with Tom.* [img src="http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t163/coopsgirl_30/navydress.jpg" src=" Kim: Wow your busting out the lucky dress huh? Angie: Yeah. It's been a while since I've worn it but he's definitely worth it. Theresa: You barely know him. He doesn't really seem like your type either. Angie: I know *she said giggling*. Maybe that's why I like him so much, he's so different. He's gentle and sweet. He kinda reminds me of.... *before she could finish her sentence her thoughts drifted back to the little boy she knew in her childhood* Kim: Reminds you of who? Angie: Oh nevermind. Now I've got to get ready he'll be here soon. *A little later there was a knock at the door and Angie opened it to see her handsome soldier standing there.* [img src="http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t163/coopsgirl_30/sgtyork3.jpg" src=" Tom: Hi! Are you ready? Angie: Yeah let's go. *They walked to the restaurant that was just a couple blocks from her apartment.* Tom: You look pretty tonight. *He said looking at her then looking back down to the ground.* Angie: Thanks, you look very handsome too. *She said taking his hand.* *After dinner they continued to walk down the street until it began to rain heavily.* Angie: Oh I didn't know it was going to rain tonight! Tom: My house isn't far from here, come on. *They went inside to find the house empty.* Angie: This is nice. Do you have the place all to yourself? Tom: No there are four of us but I guess they must all be out. Why don't I get a fire going? *he said noticing she was shivering* Angie: That sounds good. Tom: If you want you can put some of my clothes on and we'll lay your dress by the fire so it can dry. My room is the first one on the right down the hall. Angie: I don't think any of them will fit but at least they'll be dry. *She said laughing as she walked back to his room.* *She found a towel in his bathroom and dried herself off. She got out of her wet dress and opened his closet hoping to find something she could wear. She saw a pair of striped pajamas (he's the stripey type ya know!) and put them on. She had to roll up the sleeves and pants legs and that made her laugh until she looked up and saw a shabby old teddy bear sitting on the shelf. She reached up and took it down and looked at it stunned. She sat down on the bed and held the little bear in her lap remembering when she gave it to her friend on a very sad day many years ago.* Angie: *mumbling to herself* It couldn't be him. *After a few minutes she walked into the living room to see Tom standing by the fireplace.* Tom: I've got a good fire going, your dress will be dry in no time. Angie: Where did you get this? *she said walking up to him holding out the bear.* Tom: *taking the bear from her* Oh I forgot that was in there. *He said feeling slightly embarassed.* Angie: Where did you get it? *she asked again* Tom: A little girl gave it to me when I was a kid. It was her favorite toy and when my dad died she gave it to me to try and make me feel better. Angie: Sugarbritches? *she said looking up into his beautiful blue eyes* Tom: Dolly? Angie: It is you! *She wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him tightly resting her head against his chest* I knew there was something familiar about you but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. Tom: *with tears in his eyes* I...I can't believe it's you. You know I've never forgotten you. I guess that's why I've kept that little bear all these years. Those were the happiest days of my life. *He looked down at her smiling face and hesitated for a moment then he bent down and kissed her. They held each other tightly while they laughed and cried.*

while angie and tom were hugging and kissing and crying over the very sight of seeing eachother after so many years, kim and theresa were still at home with kim sitting at the piano starting to play a song.
theresa: *walking over to her* let me guess......
kim:what?
theresa:...traumerie
kim giggles and looks up to theresa
kim:how did you know?
theresa:gee, you play it so many times a day!
kim:oh yeah....
theresa sits down next to her on the bench with both of their eyes closed, listening to the notes dancing throughout the air around them weightless as a feather like a beautiful waltz in a dazzling ballroom.( i might have gone overboard, but i had to. heehee with kim's help)
theresa:*getting up from the bench feeling a tear in her eye, thinking of william, but not wanting kim to see it* im gonna go for a walk kim
kim:what?*opening her eyes not hearing her the first time*
theresa: im going for a walk
kim: okay, dont be out to late, and be careful
theresa:*wiping her eyes* yes kim
kim, not noticing her crying, goes back to playing her song.
theresa walks out of the apartment and keeps walking down the sidewalk never stopping.
she has walked fifteen blocks arleady and hasnt stopped once. she pulls out her hanky to wipe her face. when she reaches into her purse looking down to grab her hanky, not paying attention to in front of her, a man bumps into her knocking her to the ground along with him.
william: oh im sorry miss......*he cant see her face because her hat in blocking her eyes*
theresa: oh im alright*fixing her hat and looking up to him*......william?
william:oh...hello...uh
theresa: theresa
william: what?
theresa: my name...its theresa
william: oh, sorry
theresa: that's okay*she smiles*
as william helps her up, they are close to each other and he looks into her eyes and see that she has been crying and she looks into his eyes too.
william pauses and slightly opens his mouth as if he is about to say something
theresa: yes?
william:nothing
theresa: you were looking at me like you were about to say something
william: i wasnt about to say anything*he snaps back*
theresa starts getting sad by this and looks to him slightly pressing her lips.
theresa:okay i was only asking
william: you dont have to get angry?
theresa: whos getting angry?
william:you were shouting
theresa: i was not, i said it calmly
william:listen toots, you were getting angry, i could see it in your eyes
theresa: are you having a good time?* she says calmly raising her eye brow and pressing her lips slightly at him again*
william:not especially*he says up to her face*
theresa: can i go now?
william: by all means...please!
as theresa turns away. he keeps looking at her as if he regrets yelling at her.
