*Kim walks up to her room and closes the door behind her. She walks to the bed and sits down hard.* Kim: *Sigh* What am I going to tell this guy? I can't tell him off because he's my boss, but I also can't date him, I mean...I don't like him in that sense. Besides, he knows I love Gary...he'll understand. *She pulls the covers over her head and snuggles into bed* Kim: Maybe if I just give him some space...pretend to be really busy. That way, if he asks me why I'm so "stand-offish" I can tell him it's only because the work consumes most of my time! *The next morning, Kim's ready bright and early. She gets up at 5, a few hours before she needs to be in for work.* *She runs down to the dry-cleaners to get her outfit pressed, cleaned, and looking better than ever* Kim: *To the woman behind the desk* Would it be possible to get this done in about an hour? I have to be to work in about 2 hours and I have a lot to take care of... Woman: I'm sorry, miss, I can't. It'll be ready in two hours, that's the best we can do. Kim: *Sigh* It's just, I'm going to be in a movie, and I-- Woman: You're an actress? Kim: *Looks to the woman nervously, then says proudly* Yes I am. Woman: I'm so sorry, miss, we'll have this ready for you in exactly one hour. Kim: *Smiles and walks out* Thank you so much. *Kim walks down to the hair stylist to get her hair styled, colored and lightly trimmed* *After about 45 minutes, she walked down to the grocery store to pick up a small sandwich.* Kim: I'll avoid this man at all costs...he won't catch me hungry again if I can help it. *She walks out of the store with the sandwich in hand, munching along which she walks down the street when suddenly she spots a newspaper in front of a large building, with the words Gary Cooper dates actress Lupe Velez in large print* *She sticks the sandwich in it's bag and turns the paper around so she can read it more carefully.* Gary Cooper and Lupe Velez are the biggest love birds in hollywood...with the way things are looking, the two may end up married by late springKim: *Sigh* I totally forgot...this was the year the two dated... *She throws the paper on the ground and with the sound of a diminishing dream fading quickly, she walks back to the dry cleaners to pick up her dress* ***Dean and Megg****Jerry walks into the room to see Megg in Dean's embrace* Jerry: Awww, you two made up... *Dean smiles proudly and nods* Dean: Yep, I couldn't stay mad at her... Megg: *Smiles and looks up to Dean* Neither could I. Jerry: *Smiles forcefully* Sweet, you two...sweet. All right, scene 5's in 5 minutes, be ready, all right? Dean: *Gazes into Megg's eyes* Megg: *Gazes into Dean's* Jerry: *Snaps his fingers* Hey! Dean: *Looks to Jerry* What? Jerry: Will you be ready? Dean: Sure, yeah, uh huh.... Jerry: *Shakes his head and walks out of the room. He scoffs and chuckles* I liked it better when they were mad at each other.

*Kim walks into the dry cleaner's shop. She waits at the counter for someone to help her. An older woman comes out from the back and walks up behind the counter.*
Woman: can I help you, Miss?
Kim: Yes...I left a dress here to be cleaned and pressed and picked up in an hour, for Miss Kim...
Woman: Do you have your ticket?
*Kim searches her purse and produces the ticket. She puts it on the counter. The lady picks it up, looks it over and disappears. Before she disappears, a man walks in. The woman puts the ticket in the pocket on her dress and walks over to help the man before going back to find Kim's dress.*
Woman: Can I help you, sir?
Man: Yes, I'd like to pick up a tuxedo and an evening dress left here earlier today...
Woman: Do you have your ticket? *the woman looks up at the man and gets a better look at him and realizes who it is.*
Gary: Oh...I didn't realize...you see...she never gave me the ticket...
Woman: *after realizing who this man is* Oh, that's alright...For you and Lupe?
Gary: *nods*
*The woman disappears. Kim perks at the sound of that name. She looks over to Gary. She's so nervous.*
I never planned on meeting him like this...again...
*She looks away and anxiously awaits the return of the lady with the dress.*
*The woman returns with the three hangers in hand and lays them all on the counter.*
Woman: For you Miss Kim, 25 cents....For you Mr. Cooper...50 cents...
*Kim digs around in her change purse and lays the quarter on the counter. Gary pulls the change out of his pocket and lays it on the counter as well. The woman presses a few buttons on the cash register and the drawer flies open. She deposits the 75 cents and then closes the drawer and walks back to the back room to do the rest of her work.*
*Gary and Kim both go to grab for their items.*
Gary: I'm sorry...ladies first. *he looks at her and smiles politely*
Kim: *smiles* Thank you...*she goes to reach for her dress and its hanger gets caught in the other hangers.*
Gary: *chuckles and helps her out with the hanger situation* It looks like we're stuck...*he looks into her eyes and has a feeling that he knows her from somewhere.*
*The situation is resolved and the two walk out the door, Gary holding it open for her. They get into their respective cars and go their seperate ways.*
Kim: Oh...why doesn't anything EVER go according to plan?!
Gary: I can't shake this feeling that I've seen her somewhere before...
***Megg, Dean, Jerry***
*Dean and Megg run to set. They find everyone standing around, looking very angry. The two of them stand there, looking at everyon else.*
Director: I am not in the habit of waiting for actors...
Megg and Dean together: We're....I'm...we're both...
Megg: We're sorry sir...
Director: I don't know what it is that's going on between the three of you, and I don't want to know what it is...BUT whatever it is...DON'T BRING IT TO THE STUDIO!
*The two of them nod and look down at the floor like scolded children.*
Director: NOW! SCENE 5!
*A bell rings and people go scurrying about. This scene calls for Megg to be serenaded by Dean. Megg takes her place and Dean takes his. The director yells all the cues and the scene marker comes down with a loud "CLACK"*
*Dean walks out, Megg is sitting on a balcony. She just stormed out of a party after being upset by the person she is dating in the movie, Jerry. Dean comes through the door. They exchange some words and he starts to sing "To See You Is To Love You."*
*The scene ends with a kiss between the two of them. They kiss and Jerry walks out.*
Director: CUT!
*Megg and Dean pull apart and gaze into each other's eyes, studying each other's faces...they kiss again.*
Director: *throws his hands into the air* If it's not fighting...it's romance...why can't I just get normal actors?!

*As Kim ventures back to the hotel with her dress in hand, she kicks the pavement with her shoes* Kim: *Sigh* Why doesn't anything ever go according to plan? I wasn't supposed to meet him here I was supposed to meet him when I was ready! When I had the dress on! How could he ever fall in love with me when I have clothes like this? So...ordinary and common? *She takes another deep sigh and glances at her watch* Kim: Oh! I haven't got time to go back to the hotel; I'm due at the studio in 20 minutes! *She heads to the studio, her mind racing with thoughts of Gary* Kim: He meets millions of girls every year, he'd never remember me...and why should he? I'm nothing special. I'll just walk into the studio, do my scene and run! But... *sigh* how will I ever get him to come back to 1946--how will I ever get him to fall in love with me when he's got millions of other women vying for his attention? *Sigh* I wonder how Megg's doing with Dean... *laughs* They're probably married by now...*She walks up to the studio and enters through the main gate.* Kim: Hey Sue, have you seen John around? Sue: No, I haven't seen him all day. Kim: Well, if he shows up, let him know I have a question about scene 10. Sue: All right honey, will do. *Kim walks into her dressing room and lays the dress down across the small couch. She sits down at her vanity and applies on a small amount of makeup and dabs on a bit of lipstick; still lost in thought* Well, today is the day; today I'll be, officially, doing a scene with Gary. Oh, I hope I know my lines... *Picks up the dress and fits it on, adjusting the zipper in back* If only there was a way of convincing him I know how his future will turn out...maybe I could make him realize--*Kim gets interrupted by a knock on the door* Kim: *Walks to the door and opens it up* Yes? Crewman: You're needed on set in 10 minutes. Kim: All right, Mark, thank you. *Kim closes the door and hurries her pace; taking a necklace from the vanity drawer and clasping the lock* Kim: If nothing else works, maybe I'll give him some information that no one could possibly know but those in the future...no, that won't work, he'll just think I'm a stalker. *Scoffs* Oh but I am! *She takes one final look at herself in the mirror and takes a deep sigh, trying to release some of the nervousness that's been building up* *Sue catches up with Kim as she walks out of her dressing room* Sue: Kim, John wants to talk with you... Kim: John? Where is he? Sue: Studio B; he says he wants you to meet someone. Kim: *Clenches down on her teeth* Probably some more awkward interviews with more directors and producers... *Sigh* Well, this is showbiz. *Smiles* All right, thanks Sue. *Kim walks a ways to studio B, trying to rehearse some of the questions that may be asked* Why is your hair so long?Because I'm waiting for a part in 'The Addams Family Reunion' movie. Why are you such a terrible actress?Because my mother did drugs. What are you going to do after this film?Kidnap Gary Cooper and take him back to 1946 in my time machine. *She comes to a halt when she sees Gary and John conversing between studios* *She hides herself alongside one of the building walls* Kim: Oh no, he's introducing me to Gary? I can't do this! I can't talk to him! *She leans her head against one of the walls and takes a deep breath* Kim: Just do it. You'll never get anywhere with this man if you keep running! *She runs her fingertip along her lips, evening out the lipstick, and gently dusts off her dress, making sure she looks just perfect.* *When she finally gets up enough nerve, she charmingly strides over to the boys with a sweet smile* Kim: Hello John... John: *Looks to Kim* Oh, Kim! Wonderful, you're just the person I was looking for. Kim: *Smiles* Yes, Sue told me. John: I'd like to introduce you to *ahem* Mr. Gary Cooper. *He looks to Kim and places his hand lightly on the small of her back, knowing she wouldn't have the guts to inch herself forward, he gives her a nudge* And Gary, this is Kim. *Gary looks at her and smiles* Kim: *Extends her hand* How do you do, Mr. Cooper? Gary: Just fine, miss, thank you. *Kim blushes just a bit as the two hold hands for what seems like hours.* *His strong hand wraps around hers as his firm fingertips lightly caress the outside of her hand, and his thumb presses gently against her palm* Gary: *Gazes into her eyes and smiles* John: *Ahem* Well, shall we all get going? We have a scene to do in 5 minutes. *Kim tries to break from the "spell", knowing he acts like this around most women, though she can't seem to take her gaze off those eyes; those piercing blue eyes that leave her speechless.* Kim: Those movies didn't do justice to his eyes!Kim: *Looks to John and raises a brow, then looks back to Gary, as if to ask him if it's alright if she can have her hand back* Yeah, we better get going... *she looks down at their hands* Gary: *Chuckles, then lets go* I'm sorry. *Looks to John and raises a brow, as if to thank him for introducing them* We better get back... *The three walk back to the studio; Gary and Kim making light conversation on the way as John walks behind the two, kicking himself for introducing the two*

*John, Gary, and Kim walk into the sound stage area. Gary and Kim walk to their dressing rooms. John watches Kim as she walks away, then he goes and sits in his directors chair with a sigh, waiting to get the scene started.*
***Megg, Dean, Jerry***
*Megg hears the alarm going off and jumps out of bed and turns it off. She looks at the clock and sees that it's 9 a.m.*
OH NO! I was supposed to be up at 5 so I could be at the studio by 6! Curse Dean and Jerry for keeping me out all night!
*She runs around like mad getting dressed and finding shoes and earrings and a hat and all of those matching things that are neccessary to bring an outfit together. She's in the middle of finding another little blue shoe when she hears a knock on her room door.*
Megg: Just a minute...*She grabs the other shoe, puts it on and runs to the door. She opens it to find Dean, calm, cool, collected, standing in the doorway.*
Dean: *gives her that trademarked smile* Good morning...
Megg: Good morning?! We're late!
Dean: Late for what?
Megg: Filming! *she flies around the room again, looking for something else.*
*Dean grabs her arm and pulls her close to him.*
Dean: Guess what?
Megg: What?!
Dean: It's our day off!
Megg: *breathes a heavy sigh of relief and falls backwards onto the bed, breathless*
*Dean laughs and Megg kicks off her shoes.*
Dean: Ah ah...not so fast...
Megg: *sits up* What?!
Dean: *points to the shoes* I just came over to see if you'd like to join me for breakfast...
Megg: No we?
Dean: Oh, we is busy in his room, sulking.
Megg: Sulking?
Dean: Yeah...about Kim...*looks at her as if he's expecting an answer as to where she is so he can console Jerry later on.*
Megg: *sighs* I wish I could tell you where she is. I haven't heard from her in what seems like forever! Last I knew she went home...something about...her family...an emergency...or something...Way to go Megan, that sounded completely retarded, he'll never believe it!
Dean: That's too bad...I hope everything's okay..
Megg: *puts her shoes back on and stands up. She grabs her bag and the two of them walk out of her room. She stops and locks the door and then turns to Dean. He takes her arm.* I hope everything is okay too...I just wish I could send her a letter, or something...
Dean: Why don't you?
Megg: Well, she's in a different ye--She's in a different state and I don't know the State Code and would hate to lose the 15 cents for the letter, if it were returned...
Dean: Then give her a call?
*the two walk down the stairs and into a waiting car. He opens the door for Megg and she gets in and then he slides in next to her.*
Megg: I don't know her number, she didn't leave any address or a telephone number...*An idea hits her.* You know...I could go back to 2007!
Dean: Yeah, you could and then...*does a double take* You what?!
Megg: *clamps her hands over her mouth realizing what she just said* Oh no, how do I get myself out of this mess?! I mean...I think her number was York 2-0075...But if not, then I could go back to just 2007 and just ask the operator if there is a Miss Kim at any of those numbers...
Dean: *tries to follow and then just nods and smiles.*
Megg: Why bother with letters or phone numbers? I'll just get in the time machine and go TO 2007, google where Gary was in 1928 and see if letter writing will work then...
*The car stops, the two get out and go into the rather fancy restaurant. They eat their breakfast and have some chit chat over what they thought being in movies would be like and what they think of it so far and how things are going for them in pictures, and the weather, normal things that two not so normal love birds would talk about on a sunny morning in Hollywood, California. After the meal they take a drive around, holding hands. Megg's head on Dean's shoulder. They head back to the hotel. They get out and head up the stairs to their rooms.*
Megg: *stands outside her door.* Thank you for breakfast...
Dean: Oh, it was nothing at all...
*There is an awkward silence and the two stand there, sort of looking at each other and at the floor. Dean breaks the silence.*
Dean: How about dinner as well?
Megg: I'd love to!
Dean: Alright...I'll come over around 5?
Megg: I'll be ready..*She smiles and grabs her key from her purse and unlocks her door.*
*Dean goes to unlock his and turns watching her go in and close her door. He goes into his room and closes the door and lays on the bed. Just thinking.*
*Megg opens her closet, after throwing her keys on the night stand.*
Megg: Now I know that it was in here somewhere, wasn't it? Where did she put that thing?
*She throws some clothes around and finds the time machine in the back of the closet. She gets in and presses the button that will take her to the future. Lights flicker and blink and there's noises made. The machine comes to a rest and she steps out. She's in their old apartment. All of their stuff is there, just where they left it.*
I should probably just collect our stuff and keep it stashed somewhere and give the apartment up...what's the use of having it if we don't really use...but where will we come back to? Maybe I'll just return each week and leave some money on the door in an envelope for the land lady...oh, but this isn't 1946, I can't trust people...Oh...I'll just...I'll figure it out later...
*She walks around and makes sure everything else is in order and then sits at the computer. She checks her emails first and gets all sidetracked and then finally remembers what she got on the computer for.*
Megg: Oh, that's right, I gotta google where Gary is in 1928! *she googles and writes down the information. She turns off the computer and stands up, thinking of what to do next. She looks at her clothes and decides to go into the bedroom and change into her modern clothes that were left behind.*
*She emerges from the bedroom and stands by the dining room table.*
Megg: Well, I could go see all of my co-work...*gasps* I NEVER TOLD THEM ABOUT GOING! They've probably fired me! I've been gone for weeks! *calms down* Oh well, I'm a movie star now...who needs them?! Maybe I'll just go have a look around 2007, strange but I sort of miss it...the technology...and who am I talking to?!
*She walks out of the apartment and makes sure it's locked up tight so nobody steals the time machine. She goes down the clankety old stairs and grabs a taxi. She gets in and gives the name of a small cafe from 1946. The driver gives her a look.*
Driver: Never heard a dat place...
Megg: Oh well...*she spits out another place name, this time it still exists and they are off in a flash...*
*She gets out and pays the cabbie and then walks in. She takes the papers out of her purse and reads up on Gary Cooper and what he was doing and where he was in the year that Kim just disappeared to. A waitress brings her a cup of coffee.*
Waitress: Anything else?
Megg: Oh no...
*The waitress walks away.*
Man: Megg!
*She looks up*
Megg: Glenn!
Glenn: Do you mind if I sit with you for awhile?
Megg: Oh no, go right ahead...
Glenn: *smiles and blushes slightly, sitting.*
Megg: So, what's on your mind?
Glenn: Oh, you haven't been in class lately, I was just wondering if everything was okay...*he plays with his fingers, looking at them, and not at her, for the last bit of that sentence.*
Megg: *laughs* You'd think I was crazy if I told you...
Glenn: *looks up at smiles at her* That bad?
Megg: *smiles back* No...that good...I've met a wonderful man...the man of my dreams in fact!
Glenn: And you've quit coming to class for...him?!
Megg: Well...there's more to explain there, but I'll explain it later...I think you'll be safe with my secret...
Glenn: *down hearted* Oh well...I'm glad to hear that you've found the one...*he looks at her, saddened. He goes to get out of the booth, but Megg stops him.*
Megg: Wait, why don't I tell you over dinner tonight?
Glenn: *Happy that he gets to see Megg again, and that he's going on a date with her. He realizes:* Oh, but what about your man?
Megg: Oh Dean?! I'm sure he won't mind...after all, it's not like it's a date or anything...
Glenn: *down hearted again at the pharse It's not a date* Oh...well...I guess I'll see you then...
Megg: What time and where?
Glenn: What about here at 6 pm?
Megg: *smiles* Sounds like a plan!
Glenn: I was hoping you would say date...*he gets up and walks over to the cashier and gives her a few dollars, turns, looks to Megg for a moment and walks out the door.*

*During the break, John walks over to Kim's dressing room and knocks on the door*
Kim: *Opens it up* Oh, hello John...
John: Hi, Kim, could I speak with you for a minute?
Kim: Of course, *opens the door wider to let him in* what's up?
John: Well, I--*looks around the room and takes a deep sigh* I really-- *He looks her straight in the eye and sighs* Could we maybe talk over dinner?
Kim: *Hesitant on going to dinner with John; wanting to keep her schedule open just in case Gary asks her for dinner* I don't know, Jo--
John: It would only be work related *smiles desperately, knowing he's lying through his teeth*
Kim: If Gary asks, I'm sure John would understand...I mean, I'm not this man's servant, I have a life of my own*Sighs, looking to John* Sure, I'd be delighted...
John: *Smiles excitedly* Wonderful! We'll go right after work...
*John quickly heads out the door; Kim follows*
John: All right everyone, on your marks!
*Everyone in full costume takes their places on the garbed-up stage; the setting: a prude, upper class beauty, Maggie (Fay Wray) plans to marry a young handsome middle class man, Michael (Gary); though her quiet sister, Catie (Kim) knows the only reason she's planning marriage is because of the fortune his grandmother's recent death left him; Kim, who's secretly in love with him, struggles in letting him go, knowing she could give him the love he deserves, and her sister would only leave him in the dumps after she plans to divorce him...*
(I'm just going to use the real names, otherwise the character names would get confusing...)
John: And action!
*Gary and Fay walk into his run-down apartment; Gary asks if she'd like to sit down, but she rudely declines, though realizing she'll never get his checkbook acting like herself, she smiles kindly and chuckles*
Fay: I'm sorry, dear, I just think you should get a new home...you know, buy a house, maybe; You do have enough...*rolls her eyes innocently* don't you have a few dollars coming from your grandmother?
Gary: *Raises a brow and smiles teasingly, knowing she's only kidding* She left me 1 million dollars, and no, I'm not going to spend it on a new home yet; I have my own plans, don't worry sweetheart, I'll buy that nice cottage in the countryside, remember that house? You said you loved it--
*She rolls her eyes*
Gary: --And I'll give you my mother's ring...she always wanted that ring to be passed down the generations...
Fay: *Folds her hands and puts on an angry pout* Stupid sentamentalist...why couldn't this just have been easy? Why couldn't he be like every other man in New York? No, of course not, he's one of those cowboy types...he has to be charming, sweet, loyal and... *sighs* such a gentleman.
*She cringes at the word.* Gentleman
Gary: What do you say; wanna go down to the cafe' and grab a bite to eat?
Fay: *Takes a deep sigh, as if to bottle up a bit more anger until the wedding day, when she'll suck that wallet dry and slap an abuse charge for all it's worth. She smiles and nods along* Yes, dear; Let's go...
John: Cut! Great job you two. Now Kim, I want you to come walking out of that door *points* and bump into Gary. Can you do that?
Kim: *Chuckles* I can try.
John: *Laughs* All right, acti--
Sue: Fay, phone call for you...
Fay: *Fluffs her hair and walks over to the phone* Thanks honey.
John: *Sighs* 10 Minute break, everyone.
*Everyone begins to relax, chatting and laughing with each other as John sinks back into his chair, leaning his head back and taking a deep sigh*
Kim: John?
John: *Sits up, alert at the sound of her voice* Yeah?
*Gary stands off to the side, half reading his script and half listening in*
Kim: *Thumbs through her script book* I'm missing pages 89, and 90; I was wondering--
*Gary, looks to her, trying to picture the face and the voice on that street a couple weeks ago...*
*He digs through his script to find the pages she's missing, when a drawing falls out.*
*In the middle of her sentence, Kim looks down, and picks it up.*
*She quickly steals a glance at the image and notices her face getting hot. Hoping she's the only one who knows who that woman in the picture is.*
*It's a dark and shady photo, through in her mind's eye she knows exactly what scene this is and where it takes place...*
That's me on the street a couple weeks back...But by the looks of it, he doesn't know who I am...hopefully we'll keep it that way.
*Gary quickly takes the photo back, embarrassed that she saw it.*
She doesn't know that was me on the street...It could be any drawing...
*The two smile weakly; neither saying a word*
***Megg***
*Megg slowly walks back to her apartment after she's finished eating. Her mind races with thoughts of Dean; how he's going to feel after she dumped their dinner date and how she's going to explain the reasoning for it...*
*She sticks the key into the keyhole and takes a deep sigh as she throws her coat on the couch*
Megg: I can't keep this machine a secret forever...he's bound to know someday...But I'm just not ready now. I mean, I really like him--*scoffs* I love him! I've loved him for years; but if I tell him I'm from the future he's sure to think I'm insane...there's no doubt he'll leave me!
*She takes another deep sigh and throws herself on the bed*
Megg: Oh, if only love were simpler...

*The actors return to the set and some more filming takes place. After the day's filming is done the actors return to their dressing rooms. Kim hears a knock on her door.*
Kim: Just a moment...*She throws on a dress and answers the door* Oh, hello, John.
John: *smiles* Hi...I...uh...just wanted to see if...uh...if we're still on for dinner...to...uh...talk...
Kim: Sure! I'm just finishing getting ready to go out...
John: Oh...pardon me! *he tips his hat* I'll be in my office. When you're done, stop by there...
Kim: *nods* Alright...
*He turns to walk away and Kim closes the door, finishing putting away her costume and getting ready to go out to dinner. She walks to John's office afterwards. She knocks on the door. John gets up and opens the door.*
John: All ready?
*Kim smiles and nods*
John: I have a car waiting around back of the studio...
*The two walk through to the back of the building and into the waiting car. John tells the driver where to take them.*
John: So, what do you think of acting, so far...was it what you thought it would be like?
Kim: It's definitely fun, but not quite what I thought it would be...Oh, I do hope that he isn't taking me to dinner to break it to me lightly that they won't be needing me any longer...
John: *smiles* It's never what people expect it will be...So, you like working with Gary?
*Kim smiles, about that time the car pulls up to the restaurant. John opens the door and slides out, He extends his hand and helps Kim out of the car. The two walk in.*
***Dean, Megg, Glenn***
*Megg lays there, trying to escape from her thoughts. She gets up.*
Geez, I can't believe I've gone this long without watching any CCH!
*She walks out to the living room and turns on the TV and puts a DVD in. She sits down on the couch, presses play and watches. The DVD starts at the point where it left off and Dean is singing, "To See You Is To Love You." Megg sighs and then turns the TV off after the first few lines. She tosses the remotes back onto the coffee table and stays on the couch.*
Megg: It seems I can never get away...*chuckles and faintly sings a few lines of "You'll Never Get Away." She trails off and sighs.* Never...
*She looks at the clock on the wall and gasps*
Megg: OH NO!
*She runs to the time machine and presses the button that will take her back to 1946. She looks at her clothes. She has her modern clothes on.*
I hope no one sees me!
*To her surprise she "lands" in the closet of the hotel.*
Megg: PERFECT!
*She grabs a dress and heads out into her room. She runs into the bathroom to change, runs out and finds a hat, gloves, a necklace...she hears a knock on the door.*
It's gotta be Dean...he'll be upset that I forgot about...
*She stops, not even going to the door.*
He doesn't even know about Glenn...We both didn't even exist...He...oh what will I tell him?!
*She finishes putting the necklace on and hears a voice at the door.*
Dean: Megg?
Megg: Just a moment...*She runs to the door and answers it.*
Dean: *smiles and stands there eying her*
Megg: I am so SORRY! I forgot all about out dinner date....
Dean: *looks at his watch* What do you mean? We've got 2 hours...
Megg: *looks at her watch* Oh...my...my watch must have quit...*she puts her ear up to it* Yeah...*she takes it off and sticks it in a pocket on her house dress so Dean won't see that it's still working.*
Dean: Well...I just came over to tell you to bring your dancing shoes...
Megg: Oh...alright...*She smiles sweetly at him*
Dean: Well...*he looks down at the floor and then back to her.* I'll see you then...
Megg: See you then...
*Dean gives her a kiss on the cheek and then walks away to his room. Megg shuts the door and falls on the bed.*
I left at 3:00 and it's still 3:00 when I get back?! TIME DOESN'T CHANGE?! But...how am I going to get away to go see Glenn?
*She gets up and walks to the closet and digs out her dancing shoes.*
Maybe I should go back and tell Glenn that I'll have to meet with him some other time...But, do I want to give up on Glenn...
*She sighs and sits down at a desk by the window.*
Megg: If only Kim were here....*She's hit with an idea*
*She walks to the closet and pulls out her jeans. She searches the pockets and finds the paper with the whereabouts of Gary in the 1920's.*
Megg: If time doesn't change...then I will have time to visit all of these places and still be here in time to meet Dean for dinner...But, should I interfere...what if she's busy with Gary? *she puts the paper down on the desk.* How would I even know where to find her...

*Kim and John take a booth near the window in the outrageously lavish restaurant*
Kim: John, are you sure you want to take me here just to talk about work? I mean, it's so...expensive!
John: *Decides whether or not he should tell her the real reason he took her here* I don't mind, Kim, honestly...it's nice to spend money on company...
Kim: You have friends, right? I mean, you're John Waters! A famous director for goodness sake!
John: I don't have real friends, though...they're either interested in my money, or not interested at all...
Kim: Awww, I'm sorry John; I enjoy your company, but you don't have to take me to a place like this just to eat!
*She chuckles as she takes up the menu and begins to skim through the entrees*
*John sits uneasily in his chair; as more time passes, it begins to get more difficult for him to reveal what's truly on his heart*
Waitress: Can I take your orders?
Kim: Yes, I'll have the *looks to John, as if to make sure it's still all right to order such an expensive dish; he nods and she continues* 14 oz. medium rare steak with mashed potatoes and a side of squash.
Waitress: And for you, sir?
John: The same, thank you.
*The waitress walks away with their orders*
John: *Leans forward, in an softer tone* Kim, I feel like I should tell you the real reason that I brought you here...
Kim: Oh, right; is it about the script? Do you not like the changes? Because I coul--
John: No, it's not that at all. Actually, *sigh* I don't know how to put this, but I've--
*Kim takes a sip of her water*
John: ...I've fallen in love with you.
*Kim chokes on her water; she politely places her fingers over her mouth, not wanting to leak all over the table*
Kim: *Ahem* You what?
John: I didn't know how else to tell you...
Kim: I can't tell my boss no; this guy would fire me! John, I don't know what to say...
John: You don't have to say anything; just think about it.
Kim: *Tries racking her brain, thinking of how she could get her way out of this one; then she comes up with an idea* John, I'm not-- *sigh* I'm not from here.
John: I know, you're from Minnesota, right?
Kim: *Chuckles unbelievably, knowing he'll never believe her* No, actually--
John: Wisconsin?
Kim: *Hesitates* No, I'm from 2007.
John: *Laughs* Is that your address?
Kim: No, that's the year.
John: *Chokes on his water* What?!
Kim: *Looks around, embarrassed* Shh..
John: *Leans into Kim* What are you talking about?
Kim: I know you won't believe me, but I'm from the year 2007; ...my friend and I found a time machine and traveled to 1946; I was desperate to find Gary, so I came back to 1928. I knew he played in a movie called "Beau Sebeur" and that's how I found him...I never thought I would actually meet him, or you for that matter, but things kinda took off after I met you in front of the studio that morning. That's how I know so much about Gary...
John: *Speechless* I--
Kim: *Sigh* I know you don't believe me; you probably think I'm insane, but I haven't told anyone else but you. And I completely understand if you don't want me in the picture anymore--
John: I never said that. I--*hesitates* I believe you *cringes*
Kim: ...You do?
John: Yeah. I mean, *laughs* it's a little crazy, but you've never given me reason to doubt you before...
Kim: *Sighs relief* Oh John, I can't tell you how great this is that I can actually talk about this to someone!
*After John and Kim talk about the future, a few hours pass.*
Kim: *Laughs* You wouldn't believe it, Hollywood is completely different than what it is now.
John: *Laughs, taking a sip of his coke. He begins to speak when the lights start to shut down* Uh oh, looks like we stayed 'til closing time...
Kim: Wow, the time really flew, didn't it?
John: *Smiles* Sure did...
Kim: What time is it, anyways?
John: *Looks at his watch* 1:30
Kim: Goodness! I've got to be up at 5:30!
John: Yeah, I've got to be up early as well...
Kim:*Grabs her purse and stands up, getting her coat on* Well it was wonderful speaking with you, John. And thanks for listening, I really appreciate it.
John: *Walks out, opening the door* Do you have a ride back? You know I cou--
Kim: Don't worry; it's such a lovely evening, I wouldn't think of driving.
John: *Pauses* I guess this is where we part the, hmm?
Kim: *Smiles* Yes, but I'll be to work at 6 tomorrow morning; we have a lot of ground to cover; what with Fay's acting...
John: *Chuckles mindlessly, his heart sinks again* Yeah...that's right.
Kim: *Gives him a hug* We should do this again sometime, John, I had a really great time.
*Kim walks off, leaving John standing on the corner*
John: Yeah...so did I.
***Megg***
Megg: *Sigh* What could it hurt to try? I don't care...I'm going to do it.
*She gets her clothes in a bag and hurries to the time machine*
Megg: *Looks at the sheet of paper she wrote down all the information on:* 1928, New York. Here goes nothing!
*She presses the "go" button (lol) and in minutes ends up in 1928*
Megg: *Takes a deep sigh and walks out, looking around* Oh Kim, where do I start; Where are you?

*Kim takes the long way back, deciding to clear her head with the brisk night air.*
***Megg***
*She takes the paper out of her pocket again and reads what she has printed off.*
Megg: So, according to this, Gary was in the Paradise Hotel at this date...so...
*She lowers the paper to her side, and looks around.*
There's just so much...where do I even begin?!
*She starts walking down the street in the direction she's facing.*
Megg: I could just...*she spots a man buying a newspaper at a news stand and decides to ask him.* Excuse me, sir?
Man: *turns and smiles at Megg and then takes his hat off* Yes miss?
Megg: I was wondering...*she looks at her paper and then back up at him...she's strangely taken with his voice.*
Man: Yes?
Megg: Oh...*snaps out of it* If you could tell me where the Paradise Hotel is?
Man: Oh, well, I'm staying right down the street from there...
Megg: *starts putting two and two together* Oh...
Man: I could give you a lift there...if you need one that is...*He smiles at her, this time more sweetly*
Megg: Oh...I would like that...
*The two get in the rather fancy car and the man tells the driver where to take the two of them.*
Man: So, may I ask the name of the person whose company I am enjoying?
Megg: Oh, Megan Hadden...but most people just call me Megg...
Man: *smiles and tips his hat to her* Nice to meet you Megg...I'm Charles Chaplin, but you can call me Charlie...
Megg: I knew I had heard that voice somewhere...oh and that face... *She smiles at him* Nice to meet you as well, Charlie.
Charlie: So, why the Paradise?
Megg: Oh, I have to find a friend who is staying there...I don't have long...I just have to ask her advice on something...
Charlie: That's too bad...I was wondering if a beautiful girl such as yourself would like to go to dinner with me tonight...
Megg: I would love to, but, I unfortunately have to be back to nineteen forty si--...I have to be back at least before 19 after six...
Charlie: Well...some other time...
*The car comes to a stop*
Megg: I'd like that...
Charlie: I'll be at the athletic club...the usual room...
Megg: *gives him a weird look* Usual?
Charlie: Oh...sorry...*Chuckles* Most people know that I stay at the athletic club at certain times...just...ask for me at the desk...
Megg: *smiles and then gets out of the car* Sure thing, Charlie! Thanks for the lift!
*Charlie tips his hat and winks and then the car drives off, after Megg shuts the door, she stands and watches them drive off.*
Megg: You can't fall in love with every movie star that you encounter in every era!
*She stands outside of the hotel and looks up at it*
OH MY! IT'S A PALACE!
*She walks inside and stands in the middle of the lobby.*
Just as beautiful in as out...
*She gets out her paper to check and see if she is in the right place, but stands there longer as she decides who she should ask for, Kim or Gary.*

*After about an hour of walking, airing her thoughts, Kim walks into her hotel worn, tired and still as confused about her life as she was when she started. She walks up to her room and closes the door behind her; she jumps when she sees the body of another human being laying on the bed*
*Kim slowly walks to wards the bed, but searches for a weapon on the desk. She picks up a lighter and holds it out in front of her; she takes a quick look at the lighter and mumbles to herself What am I gonna do? Singe their hair?
*The body moves just slightly, startling Kim. She lets out a loud, quick squeal and throws the lighter on the bed, hitting the person on the head and bounding for the door*
Megg: Ow.
Kim: *Stands halt at the door, then turns around* PALLY?!
Megg: *Leaps out of bed and attacks Kim with hugs* Pally!!! I've missed you so much!
Kim: I've missed you too, Megg! What are you doing here?
Megg: *Releases herself from Kim and looks back to the bed, chuckling* I was waiting for ya' but I got so tired I fell asleep. Gosh, it's so good to see you again!
Kim: *Laughs* I know! I've been so lonely without you...I'm surrounded by men!
Megg: *Laughs and winks* Yeah, me too...
Kim: Yeah? Okay, tell me about your fellas...
Megg: *Smiles, walking to the couch, acting over-dramatically shy* I couldn't possibl--
Kim: Oh stop acting so coy, tell me!
Megg: *Laughs and scoots over to let Kim take a seat* All right, you know Charlie Chap--
Kim: *Nods, rolling her eyes, taking a seat* Of course
Megg: Of course. Well, I met him earlier today...
Kim: Really?!
Megg: Yeah!
Kim: What did he say?
Megg: *Huffs on her nails and holds them out in front of her* He wanted to have lunch with me.
Kim: No kidding! What did you say?
Megg: *Sighs* I already have 2 dates...
Kim: 2?! With whom?
Megg: You wouldn't believe it...
Kim: Pally...*dead stare* Try me.
Megg: *Laughs* Dean and Glenn!
Kim: *Mouth drops open* I don't believe it!
Megg: I know! But I'm having trouble with Glenn and Charlie because I promised Dean I'd have dinner with him.
Kim: Oooo, not good...
Megg: BUT I realized that time doesn't change; so right now 1946 is on hold. *Chuckles* The year 1946 is on hold for ME!
Kim: Wow! Seriously? So that means you can have dinner with Charlie and Glenn.
Megg: *Sigh* No, I told them both that we'd have to do it another time...
Kim: Another time? Since when do you daily run into Charlie Chaplin and Glenn Miller?
Megg: I know...I made a mistake!
Kim: *Scoffs* I'll say.
Megg: Well, what about you? What's happening with Gary?
Kim: Not much is happening with Gary, it's all John.
Megg: John? John who?
Kim: John Waters.
Megg: ...The famous director?
Kim: Yup.
Megg: Why aren't you excited? He's kinda cute...
Kim: Because I don't want John! I want Gary!
Megg: All right; so what's your plan?
Kim: Plan? I haven't got a plan...
Megg: Hmmm...
Kim: I gotta get going to work tomor--say, why don't you come with me?
Megg: To the studio?
Kim: Yeah! You'd love all the people there.
Megg: I don't kn--
Kim: Please?
Megg: *Looks to Kim then chuckles* All right, sure, why not?
*The next morning the girls get ready for a big day; Kim, gets incredibly nervous about meeting Gary again and fumbles with her necklace.*
Kim: AHHH! I can't do this!
Megg: Geez, you're high strung this morning, what's up?
Kim: *Sigh* I have a scene with Gary today and I don't think I can handle being THAT close to the man.
Megg: *Laughs* You'll do just fine, don't worry.
Kim: *Takes a deep sigh, relieving some stress* I hope so...
*The girls head out early and arrive at the studio within 15 minutes*
John: *Walks up to Kim and smiles* Hi....
Kim: Hi...*Smiles, introducing him to Megg* This is my best friend Megg; she's in town for a couple days, I hope you won't mind.
John: *Looks to Megg* Mind? I should say not; another beautiful gal on the set won't harm anything. *Smiles politely, extending his hand* Nice to meet you Megg, I'm John.
Megg: *Smiles* Nice to meet you as well, John.
*The three chat for a couple minutes then John gets interrupted by Sue*
Sue: Ready in 15, John; we have to get started, we're running late.
John: Thanks Sue. *Clasps his hands together* All right, Kim, you ready for your big scene?
Kim: *Scoffs* I don't know about big, but I sure have the butterflies!
John: * Placing his hand on her shoulder supportively* You'll do just fine.
Kim: *Smiles* Thanks John.
*John walks away and Megg raises a brow to Kim*
Kim: What?
Megg: *Mockingly* "You'll do just fine" *Dramatically places her hand on Kim's shoulder*
Kim: *Rolls her eyes* Oh please.
Megg: He likes ya'; it's obvious.
*Kim laughs and walks off into her dressing room to get ready*
*About 10 minutes later, Kim walks out of her dressing room; ready for her scene*
Megg: *Walks up to Kim* Oh honey, you look so professional!
Kim: Than--
*Fay walks by and bumps Kim harshly, nearly sending her crashing to the ground*
Megg: What's wrong with her?!
Kim: *Dusts herself off, making sure she doesn't have a bruise on her arm* That's Fay, the leading lady...
Megg: Yeah, but what's wrong with her?
Kim: She never liked me because I play the role of the 'good girl', the gal who falls in love with Gary and *whispers excitedly* wins in the end! *she lets out a faint squeal*
Megg: Wow, so what's the story about?
Kim: *Hands Megg her script* You'd like it.
Megg: *Looks down and skims a couple pages* Thanks...
Announcer: Kim, they're ready for you on stage A.
Kim: *Grits on her teeth and holds onto Megg* Here's my part!
Megg: Go get 'em, girly...
Kim: Thanks. *Takes a deep breath and walks out onstage*
John: And...action!
*Megg takes her seat by John and follows the acting with the script*
*Gary walks out of the cafe' door with Fay as Kim accidentally bumps into Gary; the contents of her purse being strewn all over the sidewalk*
Kim: Oh, I'm sorry...*bends down to pick up her belongings*
Gary: *Bends down to help*
Kim:*Looks up; their eyes meet.*
Gary: *Gazes into her eyes and smiles faintly* It's quite all right...
Fay: *Takes out her makeup and dabs her face; she wouldn't stoop so low as to grope the dirty city streets* Dear, what are you doing on this side of town?
Kim: *Looks up at Gary, gives a weak smile then pulls back* I was just taking a walk and I--
Gary: *Looks up to Fay* You know her?
Fay: *Laughs* Of course I do. This is my sister!
Gary: *Helps Kim up* Nice to meet you...
Kim: And to you as well...
Gary: Why haven't we ever been introduced?
Kim: We have...
Gary: We have? When?
Kim: At my sister's birthday party. That was the first time you both met.
Fay: *Links arms with Gary* Don't you remember, darling?
Gary: I can't believe I didn't remember...
Fay: *Lets go of his arm in a huff* Didn't remember?
Gary: *Breaks away his gaze from Kim and looks to Fay* I'm sorry, I mean, I can't believe I didn't remember meeting your sister.
*The two knowing, if it weren't for Fay, they'd probably be together right now. For it was Fay who ultimately took Gary away from her...*
Fay: *Face softens and she links arms with him once more* Ahhh, of course. Well darling, we must be off. I'll see you at Mother's on Sunday, right, dear?
Kim: *Fixes her eyes from Gary to Fay* What's that?
Fay: *Frustrated, putting on a light, giggly attitude* I said, I'll be seeing you at Mother's on Sunday?
Kim: Oh, yes. *Nods*
Fay: Wonderful. *Pulls Gary* Let's go, Michael, darling...
Gary: *Tips his hat to Kim and smiles* Nice meeting you....again.
*The two walk away, leaving Kim standing, alone, on the street*
Kim: *Softly* He remembered...
John: CUT! Great job you guys. Kim, that was remarkable; you hit all the right spots with your infatuation with this man. You constantly surprise me...
Gary: You did perfectly Kim, I--
Fay: *Takes Gary by the arm* She did all right *looks her up and down, sneering, taking Gary away*
Kim: Funny, how this story is so close to reality...

*After the shooting for the day is over, Megg and Kim walk over to Kim's dressing room.*
Megg: *looks around the joint while Kim changes in the other room.* Wow, it's just a little more glamorous than what I imagined!
*Kim walks out of the other room, dressed in her 20's garb.*
Kim: *about the room* Not exactly bad...A lot better than what I thought dressing rooms in the 20's would look like...
Megg: What about restaurants in the 1920's? They look any good?!
Kim: Some of them...but if you're saying you're hungry..I know this nice little place just around the block...
Megg: Let's go! This time travel sure takes a lot out of a person!
*The two head to the cute little restaurant that Kim knows about. They sit and their orders are taken. They talk while they wait for the waiter to bring them their entrees.*
Megg: I was thinking..
Kim: Uh oh! That's dangerous--
Megg: No! I was thinking, maybe I'd go have dinner with Glenn, you know, the guy from school...
Kim: But why would you have dinner with him if you had the chance to have dinner with Charlie or with Dean?!
Megg: Dean I've had dinner with, Charlie...well, look...If 1946 is on hold, why can't 1928 be on hold?
Kim: Good point...
Megg: I just have to tell him about...*whispers* The time machine...
Kim: He'll think you're crazy!
Megg: He knows I'm crazy! I just have to tell someone...and besides, I have to update him...
Kim: Update him?
Megg: We ran into each other, right..well, he wanted to know what I had been up to...I finally get to tell someone about Dean! I get to lift this secret off of my chest...even if he will think I'm crazy!
Kim: *shakes her head* I'll never understand you!
Megg: I wonder what it's like...
Kim: Wonder what what is like?
Megg: Being frozen in time?
Kim: *shrugs* We'll never know I guess...
*The waiter brings the food and the two eat, still chatting. After they finish, they pay the bill. They leave and catch a cab back to Kim's place. They stay and visit for awhile.*
Megg: *looks at her watch* Well pally...I should be going...I've got a dinner date...
Kim: Have you decided which man you're going with?
Megg: I'm pretty sure I'll go with Glenn...I can just go back and pick up time with Charlie and with Dean...
Kim: *shrugs* Do whatever you think is right...
Megg: That's just it...I don't know what is right...I don't know who is right...Charlie...he's probably wrong...but it would just be nice to have dinner with Charlie Chaplin...*gasps* OH! I WONDER IF I'LL GET TO MEET EDNA PURVIANCE?!
Kim: Well, you go figure out who you are gonna go to dinner with...and hey, now that you know what era to find me in...don't be a stranger!
Megg: Oh, I won't pally! Drop me a line...*makes an unsure face* if you can...if you happen to change eras or someone happens to propose to you...or something along those lines..
Kim: *chuckles* No problem pally!
*They hug*
Megg: Well, I don't know when I'll see you again...how fast time goes between the 20's and the 40's, but I'll see you again! *She walks to the time machine and gets in, and is whisked away to 2007*
Am I making the right decision? Maybe Kim was right...maybe I should just go with Charlie... *gasps* How long does time wait for me?! Oh, I wish time machines and love were less complicated!
*She walks to her closet and picks out a very 1950's dress. She walks to the mirror and holds it up in front of her.*
I think he'll like it...He's bound to...after all, what was it he said to me in that cafe? "I was hoping you would say date?!"
*Megg hustles around, getting ready, she grabs a cab and heads to the spot where she's supposed to meet Glenn. She gets a table and waits for him at the table. A few moments pass and he shows up. The waiter shows him to the table where Megg is waiting. She stands up and the two embrace in a friendly style. Glenn pulls Megg's chair out for her and helps her sliding it back in after she sits down. He takes the seat across the table from her.*
Glenn: *Blushing slightly* You look absolutely stunning tonight!
Megg: *smiles* Well, thank you! You look sterling yourself!
*The two sit there in awkward silence for a moment, just looking at each other, studying the other almost, with careful precision, memorizing every line, every eyelash...The waiter comes along, breaking the silence, startling the two of them. Megg jumps.*
Waiter: Sorry to startle you miss...are you two ready to order?
Megg: *looks to Glenn*
*He nods and they give their order. The waiter walks away and the two return to their awkward silence.*
Megg: I never was good with words...but I asked you here so I could tell you something...
Glenn: *looks intently at Megg* Yes?
Megg: Well, two things actually..
*Glenn smiles, waiting anxiously for what she is about to say next.*
Megg: Well, the weird news first...and then the good news...
Glenn: I should have known that with you there would be weird news!
Megg: *chuckles* Oh, let me tell you! *She leans across the table to him and whispers* I've found a time machine!
Glenn: *gives her a cynical look*
Megg: Seriously, I-- well, I didn't, my pally, Kim did...but we both use it...it's the greatest thing ever..it can take you to any time...*the restaurant grows strangely quiet and Megg lowers her tone. She looks at Glenn and nods* Yeah...that's it..
*The food comes and the two eat, exchanging their in jokes and memories and just chit chatting like old friends do. Glenn pays the bill and the two leave. They stand outside for a moment.*
Megg: Would you like to see it?
Glenn: The machine?
Megg: *nods* It's at my place..
Glenn: *shrugs slightly and then nods* Sure...this outta be an experience of a lifetime...
*Megg hails a cab and the two jump in. They are off to Megg and Kim's apartment. Megg pays the cab driver and the two get out and begin the hike up the stairs to her apartment. Megg unlocks the door and opens it slowly. She walks in and Glenn follows.*
Glenn: Where is it, then?
Megg: In the bedroom...down the hall...second door on your left...
*Glenn walks in that direction and shortly after, Megg follows. She finds Glenn standing in awe of it.*
Megg: Would you like to go somewhere?
Glenn: Where?
Megg: 1946?
Glenn: Sure...*he keeps his eyes on the machine the whole time.*
*Megg opens the door and motions for Glenn to get in. He does so, looking around. Megg gets in and closes the door.*
Megg: We'll be there *she presses a button* before you kno--
*She opens the door* We're here! *she steps out. Glenn remains behind, looking at all of the lights and buttons on the time machine. Megg drags him out of the time machine and into the room. Glenn looks around.*
Glenn: Where are we?!
Megg: Hollywood, the Sunset Hotel, 1946...
Glenn: You always did have that voice..
Megg: What voice? *she goes to the closet to pick out some 1946 clothes*
Glenn: The officious tone..
Megg: *laughs* Thanks...
Glenn: No...it's a quality...a good one...*he continues looking around.*
Megg: I'm going to go change into something more appropriate for the era...just make yourself at home...*looks over Glenn's modern clothes* Maybe Dean will have something that will fit you...*gasps* But he doesn't know about the time machine...I'll just go into his room and get something...I'm sure it won't be that big of a deal..
Glenn: Fine...fine...*continues looking. He sits on the bed and looks at the picture on the nightstand. He recognizes the face but he can't place it.*
*Megg emerges all dolled up from the bathroom.*
Glenn: Who is the man in the photo?
Megg: Oh...*walks over and picks it up* He's my good news...
Glenn: Your good news?
Megg: Oh, I forgot to tell you the good news back at the restaurant...
Glenn: And he's it? *raises an eyebrow*
Megg: Yes...that's Dean Martin...
Glenn: That's Dean Martin?!
Megg: *nods* That's Dean Martin...and...
Glenn: and....*gives her a serious look, dreading what he knows is going to come next.*
Megg: We're dating...*smiles* You always said I deserved better...better than Marshall...better than everyone else...and well, I finally found him...I found the perfect man for me!
Glenn: *Looks like his heart just shattered into a million pieces.* Well...*clears his throat* Well...congratulations...I'm happy for the both of you...any future plans?
Megg: Oh not yet...the most we have in our future are movies and dancing...in fact...we're going tonight...would you like to come?
Glenn: Oh, I shouldn't...I wouldn't wanna..
Megg: *sits in the chair across from the bed.* What's wrong? You've never had word trouble before..
Glenn: *shakes his head and stands up* I should be getting back to 2007...
Megg: Oh, won't you please just stay a little while longer? You can meet Dean and Jerry..and you really should come ou--
Glenn: Megg...listen...
Megg: *looks intently at him.*
Glenn: *sits back down on the bed* I might never have come off as someone who was so shy before...but when it comes to this...well..
Megg: What are you saying, Glenn?
Glenn: Megg...I've spent four years of my life...next to you, at least two days a week...That room...that awfully boring room...where we would have to sit for hours, you brightened it...you made those three hours go by like they were three minutes...I always looked forward to working with you the next day and the next...
Megg: Why didn't you ever come and see me? Why didn't you ever visit me?
Glenn: I had class everytime Lee scheduled you to be open...but I would have loved to...and I'm extremely grateful...I've missed all of those great times we had...*chuckles* the newspapers...the key and the filing cabinet...
Megg: *smiles and looks him square in the eye* The umbrella...
Glenn: *looks her right back...square in the eye* That was the beginning...that's when I knew...
Megg: *looks over his face, it's finally sinking in what he's trying to say.*
Glenn: That song...that moment with that song...it was that moment...*he gazes into Megg's eyes from across the room.*
Megg: *looks at him, all of him, and sees the saddened soul sitting in front of her, the defeated warrior, sitting on her bed.* Glenn...
*He just looks at her.*
Megg: *gets up and sits next to him. She hugs him, pressing her cheek against his while they hug.*
*The two pull apart and look at each other, still holding each other loosely*
Megg: My poor Glenn...So many things to say and no rainy days to say them with...

*While walking back to her hotel, Kim feels an emptiness in her heart; now that her best friend has gone through a rip in time and now resides with Dean Martin in 1946, she tries her best to pull herself together and continue living her life...in 1928*
Will it always be like this? Will we visit each other from time to time, perhaps every other month, every other year....every other decade? She would never move back here and I don't think I could move to 1946 knowing there are two Gary's running around; and even if I did take the young Gary back, he'd become too popular a star; people would begin to question!
*She takes a deep sigh and walks up to the desk*
Manager: Yes miss Kim, how can I be of service?
Kim: Hello Ben; do you have any mail for me? *Half expecting to see a letter from Gary or wire from the studio* Any letters or--
Ben: *Shakes his head* I'm sorry Kim...not one.
Kim: *Smiles weakly* Thank you.
*Kim walks up the stairs, puts the key into the keyhole and closes the door behind her. She walks over to the bed and throws herself down; tired, worn and lonely*
*Within minutes she falls asleep; drifting off into a deep sleep, dreaming only of the man she truly wants to be near*
*The next morning she wakes early to the sound of light rain softly hitting the window*
*She throws the covers off and staggers over to the bathroom to get her day started*
*Within 15 minutes she's all ready for another long day of filming*
Kim: *Sitting in front of her vanity, primping her hair before she heads out* I'd enjoy this so much more if I knew he liked me back; truly liked me, none of this "fling" stuff. I want the man I know to be true...
*With the same heaviness that weighed on her heart the evening before, she takes a deep sigh and grabs her purse, and walks out the door*
*When she arrives at the studio, she looks around, noticing no one is around but a man in the far off distance, sitting in a chair and reading a script*
*She walks closer to find that it's Gary; nervous, she goes to turn back, but it's already too late...he's spotted her*
Gary: *Puts down his script and hurries over to her* Kim?
Kim: *Takes a deep breath, trying to gain her composure and turns around; forcing a calm smile* Hello Gary...
Gary: *Smiles sweetly* I haven't seen you around lately...other than our scenes you seem to ignore me...have I done something to upset you?
Kim: Oh, not at all. I've just been...busy.
Gary: With John, I know...
Kim: It isn't like that Gary, we're only friends.
Gary: That's not what he says...
Kim: What? How do you mean?
Gary: *Looks past Kim* You should ask him that yourself.
Kim: Gary, I'm n--
John: *Places his one hand on Kim's shoulder and shakes Gary's hand* Hey Coop
Gary: *Nods and smiles politely, looking to Kim, as if to see how she responds to the hand on her shoulder* Hello John...
John: Gary, would you mind if I spoke with Kim alone?
Gary: No, not at all.
*Gary walks off as John turns to Kim*
*Gary leans in, trying to eavesdrop*
John: How are you doing?
Kim: *Knowing exactly what he's talking about, it's the only thing that's been on his mind since she spoke about it* Oh, I'm all right, just tired.
John: You going again soon, or--
Kim: *Shakes her head* No. Not anytime soon, and I don't think it would be wise for you to come along again...
John: I wouldn't expect that, but what are you going to tell your friend? I mean, about us--
Kim: She doesn't mind, she's got her own issues with men...
*Gary's eyes widen, as he tries to listen in closer but Sue walks up and asks him a question about the script; he fixes his eyes on the two, pretending to be interested in the script. Unable to hear what they're saying, he just watches*
John: Well, *smiles* I'm sure you'll figure something out.
Kim: *Chuckles* I always do...*leans in and kisses him on the cheek, in a friendly manner* Thank you John, you're a great friend.
John: If there's anything else I can do for you...don't hesitant to ask.
Kim: Of course not, John. Thank you.
*Kim walks back to her dressing room and John over to Gary*
John: Can you be ready in 25 minutes?
Gary: *Forces a smile* Yeah...
*Gary walks off and leaves John confused*
John: *To Sue* I wonder what his problem is.
*Sue shrugs*
*Gary walks over to Kim's dressing room and knocks on the door*
Kim: *Fusses with her necklace; looking to the door she calls out* Come in!
*Gary walks in and closes the door behind him*
Kim: Oh, what are you doing here?
Gary: I want to know what's going on between you and John...
Kim: *Chuckles unbelievably* What?
Gary: The kiss you gave him...he was obviously flirting.
Kim: Gary, what I do on my time is my own busine--
Gary: *Sneers* Wasn't a hand shake good enough?
Kim: *Chuckles angrily, once more* I find it difficult to see how this is any of your concern...
Gary: *Looks down, searching the floor for an answer*
Kim: *Cocks her head, looking to him* Gary...
Gary: *Looks to her face then takes a deep sigh, relieving frustration* Never-mind. I'm sorry I brought it up.
*He walks out of the room, leaving Kim confused*
*20 minutes later, Gary takes his place on his marker; the rest of the actors and actresses take their places as well*
John: Ready. ACTION!
*Walking out from behind one of the studio doors just as Fay exists the room, Kim takes her place next to Gary, standing over him*
Gary: *Smiles off-script but quickly jumps back into the mood of the scene. He welcomes her in and pours himself a scotch then offers her one, but she declines* If I'd known you were going to stop by I would have cleaned the place up! Your sister doesn't like this small of a home, that's why we're moving t--
Kim: *Walks up to Gary and places her hand on his shoulder, guiding him to sit down* We have to talk...
Gary: *Takes a sip of his drink. He raises a brow, smiling flirtatiously* What about?
Kim: My sister...
Gary: Oh...she's swell, ain't she?
Kim: Mr. Jones, I must tell you something...
Gary: *Leans forward, showing interest* What is it?
Kim: My sister isn't who she says she is.
Gary: *Chuckles, then leans back in his chair, studying his glass* Oh, that...
Kim: She told you?
Gary: *Smiles* Naturally; she's going to be my wife, isn't she?
Kim: Well, yes, but--
Gary: And wives don't keep secrets from their husbands, right?
Kim: Not in all cases... My sister is the kind of woman, Mr. Jones, to fall in love with men of riches, integrity and social popularity...not cowhands.
Gary: *Offended, he stands up* Miss Kim, I'm grateful for your company, but I'll have to ask you to keep your insults at the door...
Kim: This is no insult, Mr. Jones. I'm telling you the truth!
Gary: I should say not! You're just angry because your sister has someone and you don't!
*Kim's heart begins to race as the intensity of this situation begins to seem all to real. She can almost imagine seeing this sort of scene take place late at night as she watches him...although she's not watching a screen this time...her eyes are glued to the real thing; the man who makes her heart flutter and feel as though it could take flight at any moment. She tries her best to keep herself composed and not flub up her lines, though the caress of his hand accidentally sweeping hers during the scene almost makes her feel faintish...she wonders if he feels the same*
*As the scene progresses, the stress in his voice isn't as strong as he'd like; how could he feel angry or upset when the woman he's taken interest to seems as though she's taken interest in him as well? His only ally to the scene is to think back to the dressing room, about 45 minutes ago. As the jealousy rages within him, he exposes that raw emotion on screen*
Gary: Get out of my house! I don't want you speaking about my fiance' like that!
Kim: *Begins to sob* You think I'm lying! You think I'm only doing this to hurt you, when I'm only trying to help!
Gary: *Sneers and points to the door* Leave my house at once.
*Startled by Gary's formidable emotion, Kim takes one final glance and storms out the door*
John: CUT!
*Gary's tensed body eases slowly as he tries to calm himself. Kim remains hidden behind the door*
John: Where's Kim?
Kim: *Through the door* Is it safe to come out yet?
*The entire cast starts laughing as Gary chuckles weakly; embarrassed*
***Megg***
Glenn: *Gets up and walks to the door* Thanks for the wonderful dinner, Megg. I've really enjoyed it.
Megg: *Smiles* So have I. We should do it again sometime.
Glenn: Yeah? I'd love that...
*The two walk to the door*
Glenn: Don't be a stranger, Megg...I'm always here to share a laugh or lend a shoulder to cry on.
Megg: Awww, thank you...
Glenn: *Opens the door and smiles shyly* Have a great night, Megg.
Megg: *Smiles back* You too, Glenn.
*As the door closes, Megg finds her decision twice as hard to figure out*
Megg: *Deep sigh* I have to stay true to Dean....I have to! *Grabs her purse* I better get going; who knows how long he's been waiting.

*phil enters* hello, where am I? Am I supposed to be here? Hey Kim I talked to Gary this afternoon while I was in good ol' 1927. He said that he wants to meet you. We had a cup of coffee on the lot and I told him all about you. He seems pretty interested. Strike while the iron is hot!

(I really don't know what to do with you John and Gary, so I'll leave that up to you until it becomes less complicated because I wouldn't want to screw the story up. But, feel free to update my part if you have any ideas for it...just remember what I told you lol Oh, and I changed Glenn's last name to Benedict so he didn't get confused with the band leader...) ***Megg****As Megg dashes out the door she suddenly remembers* I can't leave Glenn in 1946! I have to get him back to 2007!*She looks at her watch* I won't have time to get him back before meeting Dean...Maybe I can still find him...*She looks around and notices him hailing a taxi.* Megg: GLENN! *she runs over to him just as he's getting in a taxi* GLENN! *Glenn turns around. He closes the taxi door and motions for the taxi to go pick up someone else.* Megg: *Breathless* Oh...thank...god....Glenn! Glenn: What?! Megg: I can't leave you in 1946! I have to get you back...back to...*hushed* 2007! Glenn: Well, can't I just look around for awhile? Megg: *sighs* I suppose...but it's so...different...*she looks at her watch again* *Glenn, looks her over, she seems nervous. He puts a hand on her shoulder to steady her.* Megg: You know what? Glenn: *smiles* No, what?! Megg: Why don't you come out with Dean and I...like I had originally suggested...that way I'll know where you are and I can return you when the time comes.. Glenn: *takes his hand off of her shoulder* You make me sound like a library book! Megg: *spots a waiting taxi next to them. She grabs his shirt sleeve and pulls him in. She closes the door.* To the Sunset Club please, driver! Glenn: Look, Megg...You're making a big mistake.. Megg: Glenn, I don't have time to take you back...I'm late...I was supposed to meet Dean...*looks at her watch and then screams* HALF AN HOUR AGO!?! Oh no! Glenn: I'm sure everything will be alright! Megg: Sure, but what's he going to think when I walk in with you?! Glenn: Well, we'll just leave you to figure that out...*he smirks at her, feeling as if he is now even with her, since he didn't want to go meet Dean anyways.* *The taxi pulls up. Megg digs around in her purse hurriedly and hands the driver a 10 dollar bill...* Megg: That's the smallest I've got buddy...but keep the change...I'm in a hurry... *The drivers eyes grow wide and he drives away* *Megg drags Glenn into the club. She notices that he's wearing his 2007 clothes.* Megg: Oh....bugger! *Her hands go into fists, and she pounds the air while bringing her arms down to her sides.* Glenn: Now what? Megg: Your clothes! *A waiter walks up to them* Waiter: Do you have a reservation Miss? Megg: Yes...I'm Megg Hadden...I'm here to meet Mr. Dean Martin... Waiter: Oh yes...right this way miss. *Megg and Glenn follow the man. The man stops* Waiter: *quietly to Megg* What about...*ahem* Him, miss? Megg: Oh...he's coming too...*hands the guy some money* See if you can scrounge up an extra suit or something for him, would you? Waiter: *looks at the wad in his hand* Certainly, miss. *He continues walking and seats them at a table where Dean and Jerry are sitting.* Dean: *gets up and hugs Megg, giving her a light peck on the cheek* What took ya so long? Megg: That's a long story...*she sighs* Jerry: And who's this scoundrel?! Glenn: Hey, watch it, buddy! Megg: This is Glenn...a friend from school. He stopped over...while I was getting ready to come out...we were talking... Glenn: *sits next to Jerry* She completely forgot about the time...it's my fault she's late...You see, she was going to return me to the fut--*Megg steps on Glenn's foot* OW! Megg: I was going to see him back to his room, but then I suddenly realized what time it was and asked if he would like to come out dancing with us instead... Dean: *smiles and shakes Glenn's hand* Well, nice to meet you Glenn... Jerry: *looks at Glenn and then to Megg* Couldn't you have at least brought a dame along? Megg: *Shakes her head* Because, Kim isn't back yet... *Jerry excuses himself and walks over to a table with a few lonely looking women* Glenn: So... Waiter: *walks over to the table* Excuse me, miss? Megg: Yes? Waiter: Mr. Benedict's things have...arrived... Megg: Thank you... *Mr. Benedict (Glenn) excuses himself from the table and goes off to change* Megg: *to Dean* You see, he came over in casual clothes and when I offered to bring him out...he refused because he wasn't -- Dean: You don't have to explain...It's alright...*he smiles at her* *Megg smiles back and looks down at the table playing with a prong on her fork* Dean: *Gets up and extends his hand to her* May I have this dance? Megg: *giggles* Of course! *she stands up and is led out to the dance floor by Dean.* *The two dance and Glenn, now changed into his suit, walks back over to the table. He sits down and watches the dancers. He spots Megg and Dean and his eyes follow them throughout the dance.* Glenn: I'm just a nuisance...I shouldn't have let her bring me here, or even to 1946 for that matter...Look at them...they really are in love... *He gets lost in thoughts of what he had planned to say to Megg when he had planned to tell her how he felt. He keeps playing all of the beautiful words and scenes over in his head.* But why does it never work out like it does in your mind?*Megg and Dean walk back over to the table, all smiles and somewhat flushed from the dancing.* *The three of them share some light conversation and Megg shares dances between Dean, Glenn, and even Jerry. The wee hours of the morning crop up on them rather quickly. Jerry leaves with some woman on his arm before the other three do. Glenn goes to leave, but is stopped by Megg.* Megg: I could take you back to your place...after all...you came out of your way to get to mine... Glenn: Oh no...that's fine... Megg: *to Dean* Will you excuse us for a moment? *She grabs Glenn by the arm and drags him over by the payphone booth.* Glenn: OW! *he wriggles away from her* What's all this for?! Megg: I can't leave you traipsing about 1946 while you still have a life in 2007! You're going to have to come back to my room so I can take you back... Glenn: *sighs* All right...I'll go back...I'll go with you...just take me back... *The two walk back to the table* Megg: I'll catch up with you later tonight Dean...I'm going to see Glenn off...*she kisses Dean on the forehead, since he is still sitting down* Dean: All right... *Megg and Glenn walk out and grab a taxi back to her hotel room.* Megg: So, what did you think? Glenn: *looking out his window, not bearing to look at Megg* About what? Megg: About 1946? About Dean? About Jerry? About the whole scene? Glenn: Neat, all right I guess, crazy, and not bad, in that order... *The taxi stops in front of the hotel, it was a short drive (lol) and the two of them get out. They head up to Megg's room, neither of them saying a word.* Megg: *unlocks the door and the two of them walk in* So, you only think Dean is all right? Glenn: *shrugs* I don't know... Megg: What's wrong? Glenn: I saw you two dancing...every time you danced...you looked...so insanely happy with him...but I don't want you to be heartbroken... Megg: What makes you think that Dean will break my heart? Glenn: Because Megg...it's Hollywood...big parties...swimming pools...money and sex....that's all...You're just attracted to the Hollywood image of him...the image that he's put out so far for you... Megg: GLENN! Glenn: I bet he doesn't know anything about you! Megg: He knows enough about me! Glenn: *Looks right at her* Does he know your favorite color is teal, you like tea with cream and sugar, that you love Bing Crosby AND the Mills Brothers, that you don't like Frank Sinatra, that you love a big band beat and would have loved to met Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey and Ben Pollack and the others...Does he know about the way you play with your nails when you're nervous, how you bite the side of your lip when you're trying to make a decision..Does he know about that cute little way your nose wrinkles up when you smile out of genuine happiness...Does he?! *Megg stares in disbelief at Glenn. She goes and digs out the time machine. Glenn contines on* Glenn: For four years I've tried to tell you...For four years I could never get the words to come out right... Megg: Four years is a long time...People change Glenn! *The two of them get into the time machine* Glenn: Well I haven't and I know you haven't either! *Megg presses the button and they are off to 2007 in a flash* *Megg stares at him silently* Glenn: I am pouring my heart out to you and all you do is look at me like I'm insane...MEGG! CAN'T YOU SEE THAT I'M TELLING YOU I LOVE YOU?! Megg: *too calmly* For four years I have wondered, for four years I have caught your glances from across rooms, from the next desk, I could feel your eyes on me...While walking together...For four years I have endured countless heartaches at the mention of other girl's names from your lips, everytime you would walk by and not notice me...everytime...*the tears start* Everytime you smiled at me when a certain professor wasn't looking...the way you would watch me when I was packing away all of my things and you were there, waiting for me...after class...to walk me to wherever I was going next...The way we...*chuckles through her tears* The way we would read those stupid adverts to each other out of the paper...the way we would entertain each other while sitting in that boring room for work study...*sighs and wipes away some of the tears* For four years you said nothing, Glenn...for FOUR YEARS! I have moved on...I think you should too... *Megg gets back in the time machine and goes back to 1946. She lands there, hides the time machine, sinks onto her bed, sobbing and cries herself to sleep.* ***Dean and Jerry****Jerry hears a knock on his door* Dean: Jer! JERRY! Jerry: *groggily gets up and answers it* Dean: I have to talk to you Jer...*He goes to walk into Jerry's room but notices the girl from the club sitting on Jerry's bed and he grabs Jerry's arm and takes him to his room.* Jerry: *rubs at his eyes* What is it? Dean: *Digs around in the side drawer by his bed and hands Jerry some papers* Jerry: *Squints at them and then hands them back to Dean* What? Dean: My divorce came through...I'm a free man! Jerry: Congratulations! Dean: You know what this means, right?! Jerry: What? Dean: I'm going to marry, Megg! Jerry: WHAT?! Dean: *nods and smiles* That's right! Jerry: Paul...you've only just got divorced...are you sure you want to do this again?

*As everyone begins to wrap things up after production, Kim grabs her script and walks to the exit* *On her way out she takes a glance at her watch* Kim: Wow, it's 8:30?! Production ran longer today...longer than usual. *She chuckles to herself* Kim: But do I mind? Of course not...I got to see Gary, didn't I? *She walks out of the studio and looks around, noticing it's very dark outside* Kim: I've never gone home when it was this dark outside... *She chuckles forcefully; a bit scared* I guess the 20's aren't like the 00's...people aren't as blood thirsty or crazy...*She builds up enough courage and heads toward the main gate* *Gary walks out of the studio and runs up to her, smiling* Gary: Hey Kim... Kim: *Frightened, she jumps and turns around. Her body eases when she notices it's only Gary. She sighs* Only Gary... *The fear is replaced with a nervous stomach, but the smile comes all too naturally* Hello Gary... Gary: I saw you leave and I noticed you forgot your purse. *He hands her the purse and sticks his hands in his pocket* Are you going home now or-- Kim: *Slings the purse over her shoulder* Yeah, I have to...*she pauses for a minute and thinks to herself* What AM I doing when I get to the hotel? I pretty much read and play cards by myself... *She goes to make up some incredible lie, but gets cut short when Gary interrupts* Gary: *Looks around the dimly lit parking lot and notices she doesn't have a vehicle to drive home in* Don't you have a ride? Or do you just walk from here? Kim: *Looks off into the distance over the few cars that are parked in the lot and gets the sinking feeling once more; knowing when he leaves that fear will come back to haunt her every step of the way back home* Oh, I just walk...I don't...*ahem* I don't mind, really; I enjoy the fresh air... Usually...Gary: *Looks down and chuckles shyly* I was wondering...that is, if you wouldn't mind; would you like me to walk you home? Kim: *Overjoyed, without even thinking, she blurts out* Oh would you?! Gary: *Excitedly* Great! *He pauses for a minute, unsure if he can even move or not, he looks around* I'll...I'll go get my coat! *He dashes off into the building and disappears behind the studio door* *Kim gets butterflies in her stomach* Kim: I can't believe he just asked to take me home. *Trying to take this slow, she can't help but get overwhelmed at the though of going home with...Gary Cooper! *The thoughts of his wild parties slip her mind as she sees him walking out of the door; the way he walks; the wind blowing his hair; the smile on his face...and knowing the reason for that smile makes her stomach do cart-wheels.* Gary: *Walks up to her and smiles sweetly* Ready to go? Kim: *Smiles* Yes... *There's silence for a couple moments when Kim speaks up* Kim: I really appreciate you taking me home like this... Gary: Well...sure; I mean, I wouldn't leave you out in the dark all by yourself. It's dangerous out here at night. Especially for a woman like you... Kim: A woman like me? *She gets giddy inside* Gary: Yeah...an actress... Kim: *The feeling sinks* Gary: *Kicks himself for not telling her the truth, and continues with the silence* *The two walk a ways for a few blocks without saying a word* Gary: *Stops and turns to her* I didn't mean what I said earlier about that actress thing... Kim: You didn't? Gary: No. I really....*stops, looks around, then to her* I really like you, Kim-- *Kim stops and looks to him; The giddy feeling returns back to her, but she tries to brace her self as best she can; knowing he probably says this to every girl he meets* Kim: I like you too, Gary... Gary: *He smiles proudly and looks around to see if anyone heard what she just said* Would you...would you mind going to dinner with me this evening? Kim: *Smiles excitedly* Oh, not at all! Though...*looks down at her clothes* I'm not dressed for the occasion... Gary: Don't worry, I'll drop you off at your house so you can get dressed and I'll pick you up 30 minutes later, how does that sound? Kim: Oh wonderful! Production's been so busy, I haven't had time to eat all day! Gary: *Laughs* Me neither! Kim: Well, my "house" isn't too far away...*she tries to make up an excuse as to why she's been living in a hotel for a couple months* I...*looks down and fumbles with her words* I'm living at a small hotel for now-- Gary: *Looks over to her, worried* Kim: O-o-only while I find a place of my own; you see, I moved out of my friends place the day I met John...I suppose you can say it was pure luck that I met up with him and he offered me a job as an actress... Gary: Yeah, John's very picky about who he hires, but I'm glad he chose you...I can see why. *Kim blushes and looks down* *The two continue walking, as silence fills the air once again* *They come to the hotel as Gary stops at the front step* Kim: *She walks up one step and turns around, smiling* So...I'll see you in 30 minutes? Gary: *Smiles back* Doesn't seem soon enough... *She smiles once more and bites her lower lip, then walks up the stairs and into the hotel* *She turns around to find him walking away...her heart nearly stops when she sees him turn around and catches his gaze...He waves to her, and her to him; then the two go their separate ways until they meet again later that evening* *Kim walks up to her room and opens the door; in a daze, she floats in and sits down on the vanity chair* *She gently brushes a strand of hair from her eyes and chuckles excitedly* *She then walks to the closet and thumbs through all the dresses she's accumulated through the months, finally coming to the perfect one* *Pulling it out, she gazes at it and smiles* Kim: This will be perfect... *She walks into the bathroom and fits it on, then walks out into the main room to look it over in the full length mirror* (Stupid photo, I know, I just thought the color was cute) Kim: He'll love it... *She quickly dabs some lipstick on and combs her hair through. She looks at her watch and squeals* Only 10 more minutes!*She paces the room, trying to kill time and kill the nervousness; she looks down at her feet and dashes to the closet* Kim: I need shoes! *She digs in the very back to find a gorgeous pair of shoes and quickly fits them on while sitting on the bed* *After a couple minutes she decides to head down to the lobby and wait* *While she walks down the stairs she sees him come up the steps of the lobby...their eyes meet once again.* *He smiles and waits for her to come down to the last step. He kisses her gently on the hand* Gary: You look absolutely stunning, Kim... Kim: *Blushes* Thank you. And might I say you look so handsome in your suit! (Again, not great photo, but surprisingly...I couldn't find much) *On the way to the restaurant, the two make small talk for a while until they reach a lovely sit down place with a romantic atmosphere* *Kim looks around the place, in awe* Gary: *To the waiter* A booth near the window for two... *Kim gets a little excited inside, knowing she's half of that "2"* *The two sit down and reach for the menu; his hand lightly brushes up against hers and sends shivers down her spine* Gary: Oh *Chuckles* I'm sorry. Go ahead... *She nods politely and takes the menu, he reaches for the other* *She peeks above the menu and looks at him then chuckles to herself* *After ordering, the two sit and continue chatting about everything and nothing* Kim: *Takes a sip of her wine* So, what got you interested in acting? Gary: *Fusses with his napkin nervously* Oh, well, I used to be a guide for Yellowstone Park... Kim: *Nods* Gary: *He looks back down at his napkin, thinking she's really disinterested in his life but only tried to be polite, but he continues, just in case she didn't hear him* And...I used to be a stunt man for many of the westerns. Kim: *Nods again; knowing all this information from google* Gary: Am I boring you? Kim: Oh! Not at all, *hesitates, not wanting to seem rude* I was just thinking... Gary: What about? *Takes a sip of his wine* Kim: Oh, how much my life's changed in the 3 months I've been living here... Gary: Changed? How so? Kim: Oh, it's strange being an actress...people treat you differently. Gary: Oh, I know how that goes; once they see your face in the papers they're all up in arms about it. Kim: *Chuckles* Exactly! Not that I mind it, of course, but it's just different from what I'm used to. Gary: What are you used to? Kim: People ignoring me...*Scoffs* I know that sounds dreadfully sad, but really, the only person I really spent time with was my friend Megan... Gary: She sounds like a lovely girl, I'd like to meet her sometime. Kim: *Sighs, missing Megg* You will someday; I'll give her a call and we'll have tea. Gary: *Smiles, gazing into her eyes* Wonderful... *The food arrives moments later* Kim: So tell me a bit more about you? Gary: Oh, there really isn't much more to tell; I moved here from Montana about a couple years ago and got my start, as I said earlier, stunting for cowboys in westerns. Kim: *Pretending this is all news to her, she tries asking questions that she truly doesn't know; questions that weren't listed on the Frequently Asked Questions on the forums* Oooh, did you enjoy that? Gary: *Takes a bite of his meal and waits for a moment to chew* Actually, I really enjoyed it; I worked out quite a bit at home, training for the falls and things *he chuckles* the guys used to tease me, but I really had no problem with it. I used to tease them and say they were just pretty boys who didn't want to ruin their makeup! *Laughs* They couldn't do much to me.... One time this fella pushed me down a hill after getting so angry at my comment! After I finished rolling, I jumped up and yelled to the director, "Want a re-take of that one, Ben?" *Kim laughs* Gary: The guy learned not to mess with me after that... Kim: I suppose so! Gary: My friend Ernest and I like to go shooting on the range every other Sunday...it's amazing; I should take you there someday. Kim: Oh, that would be absolutely wonderful, Gary. I would love that so much... Gary: *Smiles* My mother would love you... *Kim's mind immediately runs back to the quote on Lupe Velez: "I would have done anything in the world for him. His mother--I hope she never cries the tears that I have cried. I hope she never knows the suffering I have known. I don't hate her, that much. She said I wasn't good enough for Gary. She told him that when I was in New York, I was seeing other men. She told him that I wasn't faithful to him. He believed what she told him."*Hesitates* She sounds like a wonderful woman... Gary: Oh, she is. She's very picky, too... Kim: Is she? Gary: Absolutely. Kim: Well it's good for a mother to be picky...she wouldn't want just any girl taking her son away. *Pauses, as her ADD kicks in. The question comes all too quickly out of her mouth* What's true beauty to you? Gary: Well...I suppose one of the most important things about real beauty is intelligence, and real womanliness - it's a combination of intelligence and all the instincts of womanhood, motherhood, and the beauty of girlhood. These things all sort of go in together, and they are in so many people who are not reputed beauties. Kim: So looks aren't everything? Gary: I should say not. I mean, you could get a very homely woman with a heart of gold, or you could get a beautiful woman with a terribly snobbish attitude...it's all in how you look at it. Kim: *Looks down, not wanting to show the nervousness in her eyes* Gary: *Leans in and takes her hand* You have all these qualities, Kim...that's why I asked you here. Kim: *Looks up and smiles* Really? You don't just take every woman here? Gary: Nope, I *he looks out the window, unsure of how to say these words* I don't think I'll have to search anymore, Kim; I've been looking for purity and intelligence in a woman for a while and I've never come across one...every girl I've dated has been either a Hollywood flooze or a Hollywood idiot. With you I feel something deeper...something stronger. Kim: *Deep down inside, she knows he means every word. All the distrust and unfaithfulness in his one marriage is left in the dust as she realizes Gary never had that connection or bond with his wife.* *She remembers in a quote that he said she treated him like a child because he wasn't as "intelligent" as she was; knowing his wife had a father who was as strict as any father he'd ever known. The set up was wrong...and they both knew it. Perhaps this could be, after 80 years, the answer to why their marriage was on the rocks for 30 years.* Kim: I feel the same way....I've been looking for someone like you for so long, Gary. And now that I've found you I don't...*sigh* I don't want to give you up. Gary: *Gazes into her eyes* You don't have to. Kim, The only thing, from this moment on, that would give me complete happiness is knowing that I could share the rest of my life with you...that's all I want, if you'll have me. Kim: Is this a proposal? I don't think I'-- Gary: It doesn't have to be; I know this is moving so quickly...I just want you to know that I have feelings for you; feelings I've never felt with any woman up until now... Kim: *Smiles* And I've never felt so strongly for a man as I do for you. *The two hold a gaze for a few moments as Kim looks down at her watch and gasps* Kim: Oh! We better be going... Gary: *Looks at his watch and scoots out of the booth* I suppose we should! We've been here for over 3 hours! Kim: *Laughs* I'd say it was time well spent... Gary: *Smiles, holding out his arm to help her up* Time very well spent. *They walk out of the restaurant and head back to the hotel; on the way out the cool air brushes up against Kim's skin and sends shivers down her spine* Gary: Are you cold? Kim: *Smiles weakly* N-n-no...I-I-I-I'm okay-y-y Gary: *Chuckles, taking off his coat* Don't worry, my coat's warm enough... *As he wraps the overly large coat around her shoulders, the warmth sends goosebumps down her arms and tingles down to her toes. He gives her a gentle squeeze and the two lock eyes, captivated in the moment. She pulls away shyly and chuckles* Kim: Thank you... *They continue walking toward the hotel as the dimly-lit streets give their walk a romantic depth. The two stroll along as Gary gently takes Kim's hand* *Kim remembers so many times walking down the exact same street, feeling afraid or nervous about walking down such a dark pathway at this time of night, though she's never felt more safe than she does now...in the presence of a man who has the ability to sweep her off her feet, take the breath right out of her speech and make her feel as though she's the luckiest woman on the face of the earth. At this very moment, by the gentleness of his strong hands protectively wrapped around hers, she realizes she finally belongs to someone; and that someone...is Gary Cooper*

*Kim sits on her bed and takes off her shoes. She slides them under the bed. She gets up and walks over to the vanity. She takes off her earrings and lays them on the vanity. She takes off her necklace and bracelet next and lay them next to the earrings. She walks to a closet and gets out a towel and a washcloth. She walks into the bathroom and washes her face. She brushes her hair and teeth, looks herself over once more and then turns out the light and walks back to the bed. She pulls the covers back, fluffs her pillow and then crawls into bed. She pulls the covers up to her neck and snuggles in. She closes her eyes and Gary's image fills her vision. She tries to sleep but is too giddy about having dinner with Gary.*
Kim: *sighs* Who knew love could actually be this grand?
*She finally drifts off to sleep*
***Dean and Jerry***
Dean: I know I'm making the right decision this time...
Jerry: You've only known her for a few months!
Dean: So...I only knew Betty a few months..
Jerry: And look where you ended up!
Dean: Yes, but this time it's different, I know it is...I can just feel it...
Jerry: What are you going to do in a few more days, Paul, when you don't see her anymore, what then Paul? Will you still feel it?
Dean: Why wouldn't I see her in a few more days?
Jerry: *points to a calendar on Dean's wall* Shooting wraps up in just a few more days...
Dean: I'm in love Jer. I'll see her at any cost...
Jerry: *Shrugs* Do what you like Paul, but just think about what you're getting yourself into, as well as her...*he leaves and goes back to his room*
Dean: *he looks to the papers on the stand and then to the door. He sighs* I just don't know...I don't want to mess anything up...what if she thinks I'm implying something if I tell her...*he begins pacing back and forth* It's not like I don't want to marry her...I do...but I guess Jerry does have a point, I barely know her...but what should that matter...if I feel this much in love with her..*he stops and looks back to the papers again. He sits on his bed and grabs the phone. He picks it up to call Megg's room* It'll be easier over the phone...*he hangs up the reciever and sets the phone back down. He sits on his bed, lost in thought.*
***Megg***
*She wakes up and lays in bed, feeling miserable. She looks at the clock.*
Megg: 1 a.m...*she sits up and stretches. She pulls the covers away from her and gets up.* What's the use, I can't sleep anymore anyways...
*She walks to the vanity in her room and picks up a hairbrush. She sits down and runs it through her hair a few times, getting it to lay down.*
Megg: Why do they all want me now? Never before did this happen...so why now...Why is this just so hard?! *she sighs and just sits there, staring at her things on the vanity at first. She looks up, and gazes at herself in the mirror.*
*She is struck by an idea. She gets up and throws some clothes on quickly. She gets the time machine out and steps inside. She presses a button and lands back in her and Kim's old apartment. It's dark and there is a soft murmur of a voice. She is startled until she realizes that it's just the T.V. She goes to turn it off but notices a figure, a male figure, on her couch, asleep. She creeps closer to him, but not too close, hoping that she didn't land in the wrong apartment or that it didn't get rented out. She breathes a sigh of relief after finding out it's Glenn. She walks over, turns off the T.V. and sits on the edge of the coffee table, looking at Glenn.*
Could I be giving up a perfect chance at happiness at the one person that I have truly wanted, the one person, who I knew I COULD have...
*She sighs*
What if I've screwed things up so much between the two of us that he won't even talk to me? Won't even offer a single word...What if...what if he is the only person I have?
Megg: *whispers* Glenn...Glenn!
*He doesn't respond*
Megg: *Says louder* GLENN! *she shakes him*
Glenn: *aroused* What?! What is it?!
Megg: *Still in a low tone* Calm down, it's mee, Megg!
Glenn: *rolls his eyes and rolls over trying to go back to sleep.*
Megg: Glenn, please! I need your help!
Glenn: You're not talking to me, remember?
Megg: I never said that!
Glenn: No, but you implied it!
Megg: *throws her arms up in the air and gets up off of the coffee table* Well, I should have known...I might as well go back to 1946....*She walks off in the direction of the time machine when she is stopped by Glenn, who has bolted off of the couch and grabbed her arm.*
Glenn: Don't go Megg...please...
Megg: *She looks at him, perturbed* First you tell me to go, then you tell me to stay, what has gotten into you?!
Glenn: *purses his lips in anger, threatening himself to say what he is thinking.* A certain fellow in 1946 who goes by the name Dean Martin....
Megg: *Getting no response stares back at him*
Glenn: I'm sorry...You said you needed help...what's wrong?
*The two walk back over to the couch and sit down*
Megg: Should I tell Dean?
Glenn: Tell Dean what?!
Megg: Tell Dean that I am from 2007 and that I have a time machine...because you see, if I do this, I am afraid that I am going to ruin everything wonderful that we have...
Glenn: Just tell him! If he truly loves you...he'll understand...if not...then it wasn't meant to be...
Megg: *scoffs* And what advice, coming from you!
Glenn: Now what?!
Megg: "Just tell him!" Why couldn't you have follwed your own advice, years ago...
Glenn: *sighs and crosses his arms* Please, don't start this again...
Megg: *grabs her hat and heads back to the time machine* No fear, I won't burden you anymore, go back to sleep, on MY couch! *she gets back in and presses the button to go back to 1946. She lands in her bedroom and immediately she runs out the door to Dean's room. She knocks.*
*Dean answers*
Dean: Megg!
Megg: *smiles* Good....er...morning...Dean!
Dean: Good morning...*he motions for her to come in and he closes the door behind her. He stands, smiling, looking at her.*
*Megg takes a seat in the chair next to the side table by the bed.*
*The both of them start together, it gets fragmented as they go along:* I have to tell you --
Dean: *smiles and nods* You first...
Megg: Oh no...you go first...mine isn't..*she becomes nervous* isn't that important...
Dean: *he takes the papers out of his pocket and hands them to Megg* That's it...
*She takes them and looks them over*
Megg: *looks to him, shocked* So that's it? It's all over? You're a free man now? *wishes she didn't use that term, but thinks that what she is about to tell him will make him an even freer man anyways*
Dean: *Smiles* Yep! They came this morning...I just had to tell you....
Megg: *gives him a weak smile*
Dean: What did you have to tell me?
Megg: *looks at the floor* Dean...*she looks at him* I can't keep stringing you along like this...
Dean: *gives her a surprised look, suspecting another man* Whad'ya mean...You're not...
Megg: *stops him* No...it's not like that!
Dean: *he sits on the bed, in a huff* Then what?
Megg: You're going to think I'm crazy...but...Oh...it would just be easier to show you...
*Dean gets a concerned look on his face. Megg grabs him by the hand and drags him over to her room.*
Megg: That's it...that's what I was trying to tell you...
Dean: You're cheating on me with this?!
Megg: I'm not cheating on you!
Dean: Then what is it?
Megg: *turns to him and smiles, like she thought up the idea herself* It's a...*excitedly* TIME MACHINE!
Dean: You're off your rocker!
Megg: I knew you'd think I was crazy!
Dean: *goes to walk out* You are!
Megg: *stops him* Where do you want to go? I'll take you there....Anytime...any place...
Dean: *Stops and thinks, thinking he will test her machine, seeing if she really is cracked or not.* Thank God Jerry stopped me from proposing, who knew I was falling for someone as cracked as this dame?! I want to go back to the first night Jerry and I worked together...
Megg: *Shrugs* alright...*She gets in the time machine.*
*Dean stands and stares at her like she's still cracked.*
Megg: Come on! You can't go if you don't get in!
*Dean walks over and looks the machine over. Megg pulls him in and closes the door*
Dean: It's very small in here...
Megg: It'll only take a second...*she presses a button and before they know it, they land in Atlantic City, 1946. *before she opens the door, she looks to Dean.* Dean...I have something else to tell you...
Dean: *looks around the machine, never having felt it move* Yeah?
Megg: Dean...I'm not from 1946, I came here from 2007...
Dean: Impossible!
Megg: I'll show you...*She opens the door to the time machine and they both get out*
Dean: *looks around and is slightly scared* This is....Atlantic City...
Megg: *nods and points* And over there is the 500 Club...I betcha Jerry's there....waiting for you...
*They walk down the boardwalk to the 500 Club and walk in*

*The next morning Kim rises early, excited to see where things could lead with Gary*
*She does her daily routine of standing in front of the closet for 10 minutes, deciding what to where; then walks into the bathroom to brush her teeth. She sits at her vanity and applies her makeup, then grabs her purse and heads down to the next door bakery right across the street*
*She asks for a small roll to go and heads off to work*
*After about 10 minutes, she finally reaches the studio and throws her garbage in the trash bin outside the door*
*She looks around and finds the lights haven't been turned on yet; then walks to her dressing room*
Kim: Wow, I'm earlier than John, today? Is that even possible? He practically lives here
*She chuckles to herself and sits down, skimming over her script*
Kim: I can't believe we're nearly finished with the movie!
*A feeling of excitement fills her heart, but quickly fades as she realizes for the first time...her days with Gary are numbered.*
Kim: If the movie ends...would he still want to go to dinner with me? Or would this end?
*She gets a nervous stomach as she goes to get a glass of water from the cafeteria*
*Turning the light on, she holds the cup under the faucet; once it's filled to the top, she takes a sip and walks out with it, turning the lights off.*
*Walking back to her dressing room, she bumps into John*
Kim: Hello John.
John: *Smiles* Hello Kim, how are you this morning?
Kim: Oh, doing just fine, thank you. I came to get a drink of water...*she holds up the water only slightly and clears her throat as John nods and begins to walk away* Oh, say, John?
John: Yes?
Kim: When exactly does filming end?
John: *Looks up into the air and squints, trying to remember the date* May 1st, I think.
Kim: Only a couple more weeks?! Oh...thank you.
*The two walk their separate ways, getting the day started.*
*At about the time things should be stepping up their pace, it couldn't be any more dull or lifeless*
Kim: *Sets down her book and walks out of her dressing room, finding John talking to some prop man. She walks up to him and clears her throat softly* Excuse me, John?
John: *Turns around and smiles* Yes?
Kim: Where is everyone this morning? Neither Fay nor Gary are here; are we still going to shoot without them?
John: They'll show up, don't worry.
Kim: *Smiles weakly, on hopes at least Gary will* I hope so...
*She walks back to her dressing room when she sees Fay walk in; straight-faced, almost angry looking.*
Kim: *Takes a gulp and walks up to Fay* Have you seen Gary around lately?
Fay: *Looks her up and down and scoffs* Last I saw he was with a dame...said he wouldn't be in today.
*With that said Fay walked into her dressing room with a swarm of snakes following after her*
Kim: *Staggers back a little and rests herself on a small table* How--....I thought he said there was no other woman!
*Filled with anger, hurt and jealousy, Kim walks into her dressing room and slams the door*
*All the attention is fixed on Fay, but she looks to her door and scowls, slamming her door*
*They nod as if they expected it and continue about their work*
*Inside Kim's room, she throws herself on the couch and begins to cry*
Kim: Why did I trust him?! WHY?! Why did I think he was different? I should have known...*sobs, beating her fist into the pillow* why didn't I listen to all those books? He was just a playboy, but I thought I could change him...I thought I could be the one to capture his heart and end his searching. *Gut wrenching sobs begin to pain her stomach, as she takes in a deep breath and wipes away her tears*
*She sits up and takes in mind to leave; to storm out of the studio and go back home...to her real home in Minnesota. How could she go back to her apartment in New York? Megg wouldn't be there, she's with Dean. Although...she couldn't just give up on the whole production; she's worked hard! And she deserves every bit of the praise she intends on getting at the premier*
*She looks into the mirror and adjusts her hair, wiping the black mascara that's stained her cheeks and applies a light amount of blush on.*
*Sitting back, she takes another look at herself and nods approvingly*
Kim: I'll just take a break for today...doesn't seem as though we're getting anywhere. Maybe I'll just take a walk and head to a cafe'.
*She takes her purse and walks out*
Kim: *Passes John on her way; she places her hand on his shoulder, grabbing his attention* John, I spoke with Fay and she said Gary wouldn't be coming in today. *Looking down she holds back the tears and forces a smile. She hesitates then looks back up* I think I'm going to take a walk...I'll be at the coffee shop down the road; send for me if you need me.
*Kim walks away as John watches her leave. He shakes his head and tsks, knowing just why Gary won't be showing up today*
John: Gary, why this girl? You could have any girl you want...and you chose to break this girls heart...
*At the coffee shop, Kim sits down at a booth in the corner and orders something light.*
Waitress: Anything else?
Kim: No; I can't really stomach much more than the tea, thank you.
Waitress: *Nods* Yes ma'am; I'll have your order ready for you soon.
*The waitress walks away, leaving Kim sitting alone*
*She lays her head in her hands and begins to sob lightly*
*Feeling a light tap on her shoulder, she gets startled and raises her head, looking around*
* The nervous feeling in her stomach jumps as she sees a man standing in front of her, first thinking it was Gary; but her body eases as John sits down*
John: I felt as though I should come and explain Gar--
Kim: *Puts her hands up and shakes her head* I already know, John. I know all about it. *puts her hands down, defeatedly and looks out the window* It's my fault, I should have listened to the warnings...
John: What warnings?
Kim: *Looks back down to the table, fiddling with her napkin* The books. I've read so much about him that I took it all in; thinking if I ever had the chance, that I'd be the one to change him.
John: But that didn't happen, did it?
Kim: Not at all.
*The waitress lays the tea cup in front of Kim and walks away*
John: What did you expect?
Kim: *Runs her finger across the top of the cup* I expected him to fall in love with me....Funny, isn't it?
John: It's anything but funny.
Kim: *Shrugs sarcastically and takes a sip of her tea*
John: How do you know he's out with another woman? Maybe he's jus--
*John stops, knowing he couldn't continue to lie to her. They both know the truth*
Kim: *Chuckles weakly* I even thought of moving back to Minnesota...but I couldn't do that; now that we're halfway into production it wouldn't be fair to you.
John: You do what you feel is necessary...I can't stop you. But know we'd love to keep you around...
Kim: *Smiles* Thanks John...
*After a few moments pass, Kim chuckles once more to herself*
Kim: What a way to spend a beautiful Friday, huh?
John: You'll feel better soon...don't worry.
*After about an hour of encouragement from John, the two head back to the studio to get a couple scenes completed with only Fay and Kim*
*Right after the first scene, Fay announces she'll be unable to continue with the scene because Kim's screwing up all of her lines*
John: Fay, calm dow--
Fay: Calm down?! This girl knows nothing about acting! She's ruining everything!
*Fay storm off and leaves Kim in disbelief*
Kim: Is there something wrong with me? I mean, is it "Make Kim Miserable day" today, or something?
*Without giving John the time to respond, Kim grabs her purse and storms out the door*
*On the way out, she bumps into Gary*
Kim: *Her eyes grow wide as she clenches her teeth, trying to refrain from saying anything she knows she may regret* Excuse me...
Gary: *Smiles, and places his hands on her shoulders, excitedly* I have some great news, Kim!
Kim: *Confused at how lightly he's taking his infidelity* Have you had so many women that you now grow cold to any conscience? Leave me alone!
*She storms past him*
*Gary looks over to John, who shakes his head and walks away*
*Gary chases after Kim*
Gary: *Walks beside her* Kim! Wait! What did I do?
Kim: *In a huff, Kim sneers* Like you don't know...
Gary: I don't! *Turns her to him and searches her eyes* What do you think I've done?
Kim: *Looks into his eyes and realizes he truly doesn't know* How can you stand here and look so innocent?
Gary: *Lets go of her shoulders and stand back* Kim, I don't know what you're talking about, but I want to know what you think it is that I've done!
Kim: *Begins to sob lightly* Fay told me you were out with some woman, that you wouldn't be at the studio today because you two had a late night...
Gary: *Chuckles* I spent the evening with you, remember?
Kim: *Pauses* Yeah, but--
Gary: And I promise you, the moment I left your hotel I went straight home and thoughts of you flooded my pillow...it was the only way I could get to sleep that night. *Chuckles* It was also the only thing that kept me awake, actually.
Kim: *Tries to find a flaw in his story, maybe a question about what time he dropped her off* What time did you get home?
Gary: 3:38. 10 Minutes after I dropped you off. I know it was that time because I looked at my watch and counted the hours until I'd see you again... I took the longer way in getting home; I usually walk on the sidewalk, but this time I walked down the beach...
Kim: What about what Fay said?
Gary: You take Fay's word over mine? Kim, she's jealous of you...she's jealous of any woman who comes in contact with her leading man...
Kim: *Feelings of joy spread through her body again* You mean it?
Gary: *Steps closer and smiles, wiping a strand of hair from her eyes* Of course I mean it...
*Kim falls into his embrace as he wraps his strong arms around her and kisses her forehead*
Gary: Oh! *Looks to her and smiles* Guess what?
Kim: *Wipes a tear from her eyes* What?
Gary: I got us a cabin for the weekend!
Kim: *Stunned, she looks at him and raises a brow* Are you serious?
Gary: *Laughs* Yeah! My friend and his wife weren't able to keep their reservations so he said he'd pay for it and give it to us!
Kim: I don--I don't know what to say, Gary. I--
Gary: *Picks her up into his arms and spins her around* Say yes!
Kim: *Laughs* Yes!
*The two dash off to Kim's hotel and begin packing*
***Megg and Dean***
*Megg and Dean wander into the club and look around*
Megg: See? I told you I wasn't crazy!
Dean: No...but I think I may have to have my head examined!
*Megg spots Jerry and drags Dean through the crowd*
Dean: Where are we going? To Mexico?
Megg: No! I see Jerry...
Dean: Oh, phew, maybe he can prove that you're really crazy. *Pause* Who am I kidding? Me...asking JERRY if Megg's crazy?
*He scoffs as he releases himself from Megg's arms and dusts himself off, walking up to Jerry*
Dean: Hey Jer, can you believe this gal? You were right, she is a little *twirls finger around ear* coo coo.
Jerry: *Looks to Dean, as if he's a little out of it* Sorry buddy, do I know you?
Dean: *Smacks Jerry over the head* Stop foolin' Jerry! I don't have any time for games...let's get out of here and go get something to eat, huh? I'm hungry.
*Dean begins to walk away as Megg watches what's happening*
Jerry: Hey pal! Don't beat on me! I may look small, but I'm no tough guy!
*Dean looks to Megg, but she only shrugs, cocky*
Megg: Don't look at me, I'm just the crazy...
*Dean looks to Megg, then to Jerry, in disbelief*
Dean: Sorry pal...I guess I have the wrong guy.....

*Dean and Megg walk away and they sit at a table, not far from the stage*
Megg: Wanna stay for the show?
Dean: Sure...maybe it'll convince me that I'M not crazy...I know you are...but me....this has got to be a dream...
Megg: *pinches him*
Dean: HEY!
Megg: Nope, it's not a dream...
*The lights go down and a voice announces*
Voice: Ladies and Gentlemen, the 500 Club is proud to present....*Drum rolls and music in the background* Mr. DEAN MARTIN!
Dean: *looks shocked and looks to the stage and then to Megg and to the stage and back to Megg, his mouth hanging open in surprise*
Megg: *pushes his jaw up, closing his mouth*
Dean: I'm....he's...*looks to the stage and sees himself walk out onto the stage and start singing*
Megg: You're here...but you're up there too...Is that what you're trying to say..
Dean: *nods, thinks for a moment, and then shakes his head no, he shrugs and nods again*
Megg: *laughs*
Dean: It's going....just....*sort of creeped out about this* exactly like it did...
Megg: Yep, it's supposed to...
Dean: This is starting to freak me out...let's get out of here!
*They get up and walk out*
Megg: Well, where would you like to go now?
Dean: I wanna go back to when I was younger....
*The two of them walk into the time machine*
Megg: Any specific date?
Dean: Nope...just make me younger....
Megg: *thinks for a moment, looking at the buttons. She points to one* Press that one...right there...
*Dean's finger hovers over it, he's afraid to touch it. Megg grabs his hand and forces it onto the button and they are off. After a few seconds, when the lights stop flashing and whatever it is the time machine does, she opens the door. Dean steps out first*
Dean: We're in Steubenville!
Megg: Well, you said you wanted to go back to when you were younger...
Dean: Oh no, it's wonderful...*he starts off in the direction of his house* Wait...what year are we in?
Megg: *looks back at the time machine* September 1941
*Dean stops in his tracks and his happy expression fades.*
Dean: September?
Megg: Yep, October....I thought it would be a nice time of year...the leaves are changing...It's so close to 1942...
Dean: Do you know what day it is?
Megg: Yeah..it's the 23rd...
Dean: *looks at the sidewalk and then walks on, quietly*
Megg: What's wrong?
Dean: You sure you want to be here?
Megg: Sure...why?
Dean: *looks at his watch* We'll go to the park...
Megg: *gives him a look like he's crazy* Alright...
*He takes her hand and they walk to the Steubenville park. They sit on a bench.*
Megg: You sure nothing's wrong?
Dean: Look...I'm going to be coming down that street in a few minutes...and Betty is going to be coming down the other way...*he points and turns in that direction*
Megg: Oh...
Dean: Megg...you took me to the day that I proposed to Betty....
*Megg looks at the ground, her heart sinking*
Megg: You wanna stay and watch your life play out before your eyes again?
Dean: *shrugs and spots himself coming down the street* Let's go...huh?
Megg: Alright...*she goes to get up but spots a woman coming down the other way. She stops and sits back down* So, that's Betty?
Dean: *nods* That's Betty...*grabs her hand* Now let's go...
*Megg is pulled off of the bench by Dean.*
Megg: Alright, alright...I'm coming...
*They walk out of the park*
Dean: Wanna see Steubenville?
Megg: *smiles sweetly* Sure...
*They walk around and Dean shows her the "sights" and then they stop off at a small cafe and sit and sip some coffee and eat some pie.*
Megg: It's better than I thought it was...
Dean: What did you think?
Megg: All the books I've read make it sound like a huge slum of an area...that you had a terrible life, that Steubenville was nothing but crime and gangs...
Dean: Well, we have our share...
Megg: Like anyplace else I guess...
Dean: What's it like where you come from?
Megg: Terrible!
Dean: It can't be all that bad....
Megg: It's worse!
Dean: Will you take me there?
Megg: If you really want to go...but it's a terribly small town, where I'm originally from...
Dean: Take me to both?
Megg: *grabs her hat and puts it on her head. She slides out of the booth, Dean slides out and lays some money on the table to pay the bill* Alright...let's go..
*The two walk back to the time machine and get in*
Dean: So, where are we going?
Megg: Limestone, New York, 2007...
*Dean opens the door this time and steps out*
Megg: This is it...*points to a blue house on a small hill* That's where I lived...
Dean: It's nice....
Megg: *stands in her driveway, in front of the time machine* This is pretty much all there is to Limestone...*she motions to the highway in front of her house. She points north* That way is Olean...it has all of the stores...well, not all, some...and that way...*points south* Is Bradford, Pennsylvania. Where I was born...Home of Zippo lighters...Case Knives...Kendall Motor Oil...Marilyn Horne...The second home of Tullah Hanley...
Dean: Sounds like a fun place....I could use a new Zippo...
Megg: It's not fun, but we can go...
Dean: Nah...
Megg: Ya sure?
*Dean nods and looks around the little bit of Limestone he can see*
Megg: Wanna go to my apartment in New York?
Dean: Sure...
*They get into the time machine, Megg presses a button and they are off. They get out and they are standing in Megg's apartment*
Dean: Wow...
Megg: This is it...2007...You've been dead for 13 years, no one my age knows who you are, Jerry misses you like mad...
*Dean looks around at all of the neat things that he never got to see*
Dean: What's this? *He points to the DVD Player*
Megg: It's a DVD player...*watches him as he wanders around looking at things like a little boy in a candy store*
Dean: A what?
Megg: A Digital video disk player...it plays movies...*She grabs a dvd, turns on the tv and presses play. She takes his hand and she leads him to the couch. They sit and she hears the music of the Colgate Comedy Hour come up* Oh, I know you're going to enjoy this!
Dean: What is it?
Megg: The Colgate Comedy Hour...
Dean: Huh?
Megg: SHHH! No one talks when CCH is on!
*The Announcer's voice announces: WITH DEAN MARTIN AND JERRY LEWIS!*
Dean: Oh, it's us...you know...
Megg: hmm? *her eyes still glued to the screen*
Dean: You're like the ghost of christmas past...and future...all rolled into one...
Megg: *nods, still watching the screen*
Dean: We're pretty good...when is this?
Megg: Fifties...but it's not all happy...
Dean: What do you mean?
Megg: You're going to break up with Jerry, ten years to the day that you met...Jerry will be ripped apart...you will too...but you won't really show it...
*Megg grabs Dean's hand and takes him to the time machine.*
Dean: Are we going?
*Megg nods and then they get out of the time machine. They are in something akin to a board room. Dean and Jerry sit opposite sides of the table, there are people there that Megg doesn't recognize, but look pretty important. Megg and Dean watch and listen.*
Manager type person: You can't go giving up these contracts, there's millons of dollars here! You're booked solid for months!
Dean: I can go out and do three shows with him right now...I can do it...He can't! It's too deep for him...it's too emotional...he can't do it...just ask him!
*Jerry goes to open his mouth to say something, but doesn't*
Dean: *to Megg* I'm treating my buddy terribly! *he turns away* I can't bear to watch it...*he walks back to the time machine. Megg gets in too.*
Megg: Wanna go back to 1946?
Dean: *nods*
*Megg presses the button and they land in Megg's hotel room. She puts the time machine back in her closet*
Megg: I guess I don't have to hide this anymore...*She closes the closet door*
Dean: No...guess not...
*Megg stops and then turns around, catching his gaze*
Megg: Dean...I have to ask you something...
Dean: What is it?
Megg: Do you still love me? After all of that? Knowing that...that I'm just an obsessed fan...that I came here just to meet you...
Dean: *crosses his arms and looks her over. He walks over and sits on the edge of the bed and then looks her in the eyes*

Dean: Megg, I'll always love you. I can't...*looks down* I can't explain all my feelings right now. *Looks to her, in hopes she'll understand* I just need a little time to take it all in. Megg: *Nods* I know Dean, *places her hand on his shoulder* you don't have to explain it all to me right now; I just *sigh* I just don't want you to think of me differently because of this... Dean: *Takes her hand and places it in his* Never, Megg...never. ***Kim and Gary****Gary drops Kim off at the hotel entrance, where he'll continue to his house to pack all of his belongings* *But before he leaves, he turns around and looks to Kim* Gary: Oh, Kim? Kim: *Turns around* Yes? Gary: Wear your best dress today... Kim: *Smiles, getting giddy once more* All right... *After about an hour and a half, Kim walks down to the lobby and through the hotel doors she spots a sharp car parked right outside the front of the hotel* *As she looks closer she realizes it's Gary; and with a bright smile on her face, she bounds out of the hotel and leaps into his arms.* *He holds her in his embrace for a moment and kisses her cheek; his heart pounding faster and faster.* *Smiling, she pulls away excitedly and lifts up her bags. He takes them from her and smiles sweetly. She smiles back and gets into the passenger seat, waiting until he closes the trunk.* *He sits down and starts the engine.* Kim: *Gets settled into her seat* How long have you been waiting for me? Gary: *Looks over at her and smiles* Forever. *She looks down and blushes as they peel out of the hotel lot* Kim: *Looks around in the back* Where are your bags? Gary: Oh! I must have forgotten them... Kim: *Laughs* But that's what you went home to do! What were you doing all this time? Gary: I had a few phone calls...it was so heck tick! Kim: Oooh... *After a few miles she realizes his directions to the cabin are further back...* Kim: You missed a couple turns back there....Where are we going? Gary: It's a surprise... *She sits back in her seat and chuckles to herself* Kim: You sure are full of surprises, aren't you? Gary: *Laughs and places his arm in back of her; the wind blowing their faces* *After about 25 minutes, he pulls into a Victorian looking church and stops the engine* Kim: *Looks around* What are we doing here? Gary: *Walks around to her side of the car and opens the door* It's still a surprise... *She laughs, shaking her head in disbelief and takes his hand* *He walks her up the stairs and into the church* Gary: Close your eyes... *She closes her eyes, holding onto his hands.* *He guides her into the chapel and stops about 10 feet in* *Taking a deep breath, he looks to her* Gary: I want you to open your eyes...but whatever you do...don't look around. Keep your eyes fixed on me, all right? Kim: *Chuckles* All right. *She opens her eyes and gazes into his, completely captivated by the glow in his eyes* Gary: *Holds onto her hands and smiles* Kim, I know this is going to sound completely ridiculous, but I can't seem to continue this relationship any longer... Kim: *A sinking feeling enters her body as her grip in his hands slowly weakens* What? Gary: *Takes a deep sigh* I realized that this afternoon; seeing the hurt in your eyes...I knew I'd never want you to go through tha-- Kim: You took me here to tell me that you no longer want to see me? Gary: *Pauses and searches her eyes* I came here to tell you that I love you, Kim. That I can't continue living a life that doesn't have meaning; continuing to come home to an empty house. The reason I told you I wanted to end this relationship is because I want to end this jealousy and end the loneliness...Kim, I want you to be my wife; I want you to know that I'm completely yours. I want to come home and have that gorgeous smile of yours greet me at the door every afternoon like it has every day for the past 3 months. I know we haven't known each other that long, but I want to end this part of our relationship and start a new one...one that cannot easily be broken. *He searches her eyes for a glimmer of hope* Kim: *Sobbing lightly, she lets out a deep sigh and inhales* I--I don't know what to say, Gary. *Exhales deeply, trying to hold herself together* Gary: *Leans forward, holding her hands in his, gently caressing his thumb over the top of her hand and whispers* Say you'll be my wife and make me the happiest man on the face of the earth....Say you'll give me the chance to grow old with the most amazing woman and look back with no regrets... Kim: *The words send chills throughout her entire body* Yes... *Moments after she uttered the word, a man steps up beside them and looks to Kim* Man: That's just what I wanted to hear, miss... *Kim looks to the man, who's dressed in a minister outfit; though her eyes are taken off the man quickly when she sees the inside of the church dimly lit with hundreds of gorgeous candles and yellow roses placed everywhere. A gasp escapes through her lips as she looks back to Gary in awe* Kim: How-- Gary: Just like I told you...I've waited for you forever....I've had enough time for the planning. *She chuckles, wiping a tear from her eye* *The minister hands Gary the ring* Kim: *Looks down and gasps as he places the ring on her finger* Gary: I Gary Cooper...take you, Kim Auzins...to be my lawfully wedded wife. To love, cherish and honor until death do us part. *She smiles as the minister hands her the other ring* Kim: *Gazes into his eyes* I, Kim Auzins, take you....Gary Cooper to be my lawfully wedded husband.... Minister: And now, with the power vested in me and the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife...*smiles, looking to Gary* you may now kiss your bride... *As the intensity mounts, Gary finally takes her in his arms and kisses her passionately. The feeling sends electric shocks through them both as their toes even begin to tingle* *The two pull away slowly and gaze into one another's eyes* Kim: Oh! Wait, who's the witness? *John stands up from the side pew and smiles* John: Congratulations, Kim... Kim: *Gets tears in her eyes and gives John a hug* Oh John, I'm so glad you could make it... John: *Smiles* Me too. *Places his hand on Gary's shoulder* You take care of her, got it? Gary: *With all seriousness, Gary squeezes Kim's hand and looks to her* I will... John: Well, I better let you two get going! You have a cabin to tend to... Kim: *Looks to Gary* Oh that's right! *She giggles excitedly as Gary picks her up and runs out of the church with her* Both: Bye! *Gary places her into the passengers seat and the two share another passionate kiss.* *The minister and John stand in front of the church, waving* *Gary and Kim speed off down the road with the wind in their hair and dreams of the future bright ahead...* *After about a few hours of driving, they stop off at a tiny, little shop on the way to the cabin. He brings her out a lovely bouquet of red roses* Kim: Oh darling, these are beautiful! Thank you... Gary: *Gets in the car and kisses her passionately* You're welcome. *They continue to drive up to the cabin and after another couple hours of driving they finally reach their destination* Kim: *Gets out of the car* Wow, this place is incredible! Gary: *Walks up to her and picks her up, carrying her to the door* Well, Mrs. Cooper..this will be your new home for the first week of our marriage. Shall we go in? Kim: *Throws her arms around his neck and kisses him passionately* Yes, Mr. Cooper...I think we shall. *He swings the door open and carries her across the threshold to the porch, where a gorgeous bench is overlooking the lake* *He sets her down on the bench and snuggles up under the blanket. They watch the sunset over the lake, as the beautiful sun rays cast diamonds over the lake's ripples* Kim: *In awe* This is amazing, I can't...*gasps as she fixes her gaze to the silhouette of the mountains* This is incredible! Gary: *Staring at Kim, and smiles, under his breath* You're incredible. Kim: *She fixes her eyes on him and kisses him softly, snuggling up under the blanket, closer to him* I love you, Gary.... Let's never forget this place, all right? No matter how tough things get, and no matter what comes between us, let's always remember this time now, and etch it in our mind's eye... Gary: *Pulls her close and kisses her forehead* We won't forget it, sweetheart... *After a while, Kim and Gary walk down to the beach after the sun's set and walk along the edges of the shore* *Her hair and shawl blow wildly in the wind* *She looks up to the sky and gasps* Kim: I've never seen the sky so bright with stars before... *He looks to her and holds out his hand* *She looks up and slips her left hand over his shoulder and places her right hand in his* *He begins to hum a tune as they both start dancing under the moonlight; over the shorelined water their bare feet get wet* *The waves splash against each other violently off in the distance as she lays her head on his shoulder and starts shivering* Gary: *Looks to her, worried* Are you cold? Kim: *Smiles* Oh, I don't mind. It's such a lovely evening I don't really even notice. *He takes off his jacket and wraps it around her, cuddling her in his arms* Kim: *Lays her head up against his chest, hearing his heart beating faster and faster; she looks up* Gary? Gary: *Looks down and smiles* Yeah? Kim: *Kisses his lips softly* I love you. *He smiles proudly and takes her up in his arms, bringing her inside, out of the windy midnight breeze....*
