Biopic traces the life of Lou Gehrig, famous baseball player who played in 2130 consecutive games before falling at age 37 to ALS, a deadly nerve disease which now bears his name. Gehrig is followed from his childhood in New York until his famous 'Luckiest Man' speech at his farewell day in 1939.

I noticed that the police officer who was talking with Lou before proposing to Ellie was also the security guard in "Cassanova Brown."

    He's a funny feller.

That is amazing you picked up on that. I would have gone many more years before ever making the connection but I'm a little slow on that sort of thing. Thanks for the little bit of trivia. I will have to check it out and it will give me another reason to re-watch Casanova Brown. :)

I'm gonna watch Cass Brown sometime this weekend to gather a few quotes. ...Did I say "few"? Hah, like that'll be easy...

Emory Parnell, the police officer/security guard is from Minnesota, too! He reminds my dad of Jonathan Winters.
lol, The voice seemed too familiar, I knew it immediately. "Say, that's the fella from Cass Brown...without the gum!" :D

I just saw this film today and was absolutely surprised at how wonderful it was. Gary and Teresa were a fun couple to watch.

My favorite scene has got to be, when the Yankees visit the hospital and all of the players leave the little boy's bed and Lou is about to walk away, when the boy calls for him to come back. It brought me to tears when Lou hit the two homers. Such a tearjerker but most definitely a classic. :)
